fucking masterpiece
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Er... not like that. Stuff more like Joy Division.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.- The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge
- The Cure - Disintegreation
- Bauhaus - In the Flat Field
- Echo & the Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here
- New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies
- Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
If you want the darker, synthier strain of post-punk like Joy Division, go for these.
http://www.last.fm/user/TRILLHOUSE_Fine music, but if you're looking for intriguing stuff from the same period, particularly the sort that shares Joy Division's propulsive, looming bass/weird, sharp guitar dynamic, I would recommend the following:
- A Certain Ratio, The Graveyard & The Ballroom LP
- Blue Orchids, The Greatest Hit (Money Mountain) LP
- Cabaret Voltaire, Red Mecca LP
- Crispy Ambulance, Live on a Hot August Night EP
- The Delta 5, Singles & Sessions 1978-1981 CD
- The Fall, Hex Enduction Hour LP
- Gang Of Four, Entertainment! LP
- Magazine, Real Life LP
- Public Image Ltd, First Issue LP
- Wire, Chairs Missing LP
- The Durutti Column, The Return of the Durutti Column LP
- Ludus, The Seduction 2x12"
- This Heat, Made Available: The Peel Sessions CD
P.S. I could spit out about thirty more bands at command, but that might be presumptuous. In any case, if you have a question, just ask!

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.I've already heard a lot of Echo actually, my friend plays music on his iPhone and he likes them and Joy Division.
I'll note those two lists. Thanks for the help.
I'm disappoitned no one has started threads about psychedlic rock, where I could really help.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.Check out The Sound as well, they were releasing music with the same aesthetic as Joy Division and around about the same time as well but never really made it into the big time and consequently, are considered something of a hidden classic.
Jeopardy or From The Lion's Mouth would be good starting points, I think.
yeah man lowercaseI really like Jeopardy.
