I think what we need is to take this work not as a piece of fiction, but a piece of non-fiction-fiction. From that perspective we can see how the author is really using the work The TV Tropes Page For Lolita as a metaphor for Roman imperialism in the middle ages.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

This ongoing postmodern performance art is really quite exciting. I really can't wait for the third act to come out. The suspense for whether the eventual An Aesop will be "Justice is always served in due time" or "Once something has been tainted it can never be purified" - or possibly even some unforeseen third possibility - is absolutely killing me.
