Take a close look at Bisharp, though. He used Protect.
I have a message from another time...Either that or hair-dye.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadIGN has the video up, not subbed, though.
For the record, I'm guy arguing with the immature guy in the comments section.
Watch SymphogearYou're right enlong, didn't catch that.
There's no way I'm watching these videos, I just don't wanna be fooled or spoiled.
This is a game trailer?
.. woah.
So Cheren stole Bianca's vision? I really don't get their roles. Assistant, what happened too Gotta catch em all?, Gym leader, what happened to be the very best, like no one ever was? I guess they had to pay the bills.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackAssistant: What better position to take up to find and study pokémon?
Gym Leader: First of all, Cheren realized that To Be a Master is a rather empty goal in and of itself. Also, Gym Leader's pretty good already. We know he has better teams than what he uses for the Gym, so presumably, there's some other process one goes through, and League-mandated team limits depending on badges. I'll bet he'll have quite the nasty team for Rematches.
I have a message from another time...Actually if you bothered to pay attention to B/Ws story you'd know that not everyone wants or needs to become a pokemon master and that Cheren/Bianca's thing revolved them choosing their own path that best suited them. Cheren became a gym leader and Bianca became an assistant, which she was already doing by the end of the previous game.
And while we may mock the earlier Gym leaders, there's gotta be some very exclusive process to get to that position. They don't let just any schmo with a themed team hand out the passes to the Elite Four, after all.
I have a message from another time...i always figured the only way for the gyms to make sense, considering trainers dont all come from the same town, was for (especially if those fucking old men keep blocking the way out of town) gym's to not actually have a real order in which they need to be completed, and have multiple teams in any given gym to prepare the leader for trainers in any stage of their journey.
which just makes me want all the broken bridges gone even more.
The fact that the gym leaders from every town were ready to fight in N's castle supports this, as well.
Also, rematches with Gym Leaders in games like Platinum. I've heard some speculate that those teams are what the Leaders use when they're not limiting themselves.
I have a message from another time...Since all gym leaders have a second job, maybe that will make more sense for Cheren. I'd figure he's be more than a designated Beef Gate after beating the elite four and declaring he was going to find all your weaknesses though. If not champion or battle institute head then in public work like teaching or law. Something that would allow his best team to perform to the best of their ability.
The assistant thing bugs me because I figured Bianca would be going into business for herself, at least on equal footing with her partners.
But what bugs me more than that is how small Arcanine is in the video. Isn't it supposed to be two meters tall? Or was that a Growlithe?
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackThat's average height, not all species of a pokemon are physically the same height and weight.
Two meters? No, man. They're six foot three.
...which doesn't help, since he's about a head shorter than our protagonist.
Perhaps he's been evolved, but is not yet fully grown.
I have a message from another time...Fair enough, even though I wanted new monsters there are some interesting things to look forward to. I think gamefreak/Nintendo did a good job with the promos.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackI wonder if this means the game will have FMV cuscenes. It's probably wishful thinking on my part. But now we know the protagonists aren't Heroic Mimes in canon.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I don't think it will have FMV cutscenes, but it might have more scenes like N's last scene at the end of the B/W.
I do hope so. That trailer is awesome no doubt, but it's clearly subbed by a fan who wanted to translate the text directly from its literal meaning. I hope the official translation doesn't go the same route like it did in B&W.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Yeah. I preferred how the Gen IV games were localized.
I fail to really see a difference or fault in translation. What do you mean?
Maybe Bianca went hipster while she was studying Pokemon and that's why she's wearing those glasses. :P
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI'm not sure why the would be. Although it's not like the guy said anything much besides commands for his Pokemon, come to think of it.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo. The translation always seems to use the most accurate word for the speech, without regard to the meaning. For example when Cheren said "So trublesome" that may be literally what he said, but it doesn't quite seem natural and doesn't really get the effect that I think they were going for. "What a pain" means essentially the same thing, but doesn't sound as awkward.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
Wait all this time Elesa wasn't a natural blonde?
How did the shadow trio stop aura sphere exactly? It couldn't have been Bisharp, since aura sphere would utterly destroy it. Seviper got beat down pretty badly D:
While the part where the male PC/Rival/Cheren were surrounded by grunts was cool the dialogue seemed really cliche, even by pokemon standards. I'm kind of hoping the writing/translation won't be as bland/awkward as B/W vanilla but eh, probably so. I loved how Cheren was all business.
It was really well done though, only bad part being that "now I'm getting angry!oi so troublesome-_- okay guyz let's do this!" I'm hoping it was just bad translation.
