Speaking with a primary interest in video games, "visual novel" is as good a name for that genre of games as any, as they are basically digital Choose Your Own Adventure works. The fact that they are way more popular in Japan than in the West is beside the point.

Yeah, Martello was ONLY being exposed to them in the P5 forum and only the very creepiest of them instead of things like Phoenix Wright. I don't think it made a good impression on him. It wouldn't make a good first impression on most people.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dickrequires players to be underage: true
sex is a vital part of gameplay: debatable
I have seen something on the net thats says you can play bliss stage with out sex all you do is cap intimacy at 4 and assume everything is non sexual.
for reference the intimacy table is on page 69 http://www.scribd.com/zvarnon/d/39367343-Bliss-Stage-Bliss-State-Interim-Stage
By the way the tropes page needs a major cleaning.

I'm not even that into anime, but Martello's vocal disdain for anything Japanese is beginning to get uncomfortable. Is he at least basing his votes on the actual *content* of something rather than where it originated?
Yeah, obviously I'm actually researching this stuff. If I was just voting to cut anything Japanese or anything I don't like you'd see a lot more devil heads.
Also I wouldn't have started any of the many threads asking for feedback if I was just going "durr this is Japanese let's cut it." Thanks for your insight into the situation and concern. I'm uncomfortable with the number of people defending various awful pedo-animes, so I guess we all have our issues.

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. In the interest of full disclosure, I feel the need to point out that any sex in Bliss Stage and Bliss Stage Love Is Your Weapon would be between teenagers, not between a teenager and an adult, since there are no adults left in the game's world.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI also just found this its official I think
"Conceivably, it could be played with no sex – keep Intimacy at 4 or lower, and interpret these lower scores in non-sexual ways, and all the rules are preserved. But who could believe that would happen? It’s up to the group to arrive what they think would happen, and what they think is right or wrong about it."

Regarding the proposed thread for linking to defenses/accusations: I already read through all new posts in this subforum on a daily basis; it wouldn't really be much work for me to maintain a updating list pointing to the defenses and accusations. I'd need a P5 member to start the thread, though (I'd make the second post, and update that), and I won't have time to archive crawl for at least a week.
Is it shown though? Because that would be porn wouldn't it?

Do not be so quick to make foolish offers, Daemon. Araghast too once thought I would be an asset to his cause. Look what has become of him.Not in the vn or the table top.

The original Bliss Stage is a tabletop RPG. If sex happens, the explicitness or lack thereof would be down to the discretion of the GM and the players.
As for the visual novel, it's been mentioned above that the creators intend to go with a fade-to-black when two characters have sex.
EDIT: Ninja'd.

Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!oh ok.
the intimacy level thing works more like persona3/4s social link system and 5 rank 4(nonsexual) relationships are equivalent to 4 rank 5(sexual) relationships mechanicly.

Just looked at the voting tool and jay naylor needs one more vote ether way meaning someone has not voted yet.
Yes. One question here: Creator pages do get cut if they made nothing but pornos (which doesn't seem to be the case here), or what guidelines do we follow here?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanLooking at the recent flags:
Ironwood: An erotic sword and sorcery series published by the same people who published Ramba over here.
FanVid.Touhou: This strikes me as a case of a page being flagged due to some NSFW vids being linked to. I blame Innocent Key.
Literature.Noodles: A short story written to explain a "reverse Naughty Tentacles" situation.
Sankaku Complex: Not really surprised to see this under the hammer again.
Webcomic.Roommates 2009: Was this reviewed before? I'm thinking it has, unless I'm misremembering.
Exit To Eden: The Anne Rice BDSM novel, which was adapted into a pretty bad movie.

"Fan Vid.Touhou" that one most likely just needs cleaning.
"Literature.Noodles" as Hilarius as it sounds the tropes page macks it sound like porn I will let someone else check.

According to the "Decisions and Announcements" thread, it was Fanfic.Roommates2009 which was reviewed. I have no idea if they're the same thing.
Stuff that's "soft porn" should be flagged for review, right?
People seem to have very big differences of opinion as to what soft porn entails. If you think something is in good faith questionable if it belongs here and does not fall under our rules of what not to flag, go ahead.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickPorn is porn, mang. Flag it.
What's the work in question, by the way? Also, "soft porn" is short for softcore porn, right?
