Agreed. Somebody like McManus doesn't really count as a "real person" when it's in context.

I'd say pull the image completely, and don't use it on any page.

"...self-granted ranks do not count." Michael McManus (the douchebag in the image) was arrested for violating the Stolen Valor Act. As far as I know, he never served in any military and therefore never earned any of the awards he's wearing. He's more suited as an image for Phony Veteran.
I can't think of anything to replace the image.
