(I wasn't sure whether this should be labeled as Ambiguous Name, Unclear Description, or Duplicate Trope)

Harbinger of Impending Doom confuses me. The name and the page quote make it sound like a literal herald of some evil event, like the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Also, the name is a tad redundant; of course a harbinger signifies impending doom.

From the description, (Example as a Thesis BTW) it seems to be the horror/monster movie version of Almost Dead Guy, where some guy attacked by the monster bursts in with a vague warning before dying. The description only distinguishes it from Almost Dead Guy in that the Almost Dead Guy must die, and the Harbinger of Impending Doom can stick around warning about how Vagueness Is Coming for a bit longer, which doesn't seem like the proper distinction for the tropes. At least it references other related tropes, but it doesn't make clear how it's different.

I found out that this was renamed in 2010 from Hell Is Coming With Me. I can't find the old rename thread, but here's the alt-names crowner, and all of the other proposed names were pretty vague, so I think there was some definition confusion going on. Overall, it seems like an overdramatic and misleading name for the horror trope, and the description needs work, if it's not too close to Almost Dead Guy to begin with.

We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!

You can be a harbinger of things besides impending doom.

Locking up.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
