Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in this thread.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.
Attempting to bait others into bringing up religion is also not allowed.

Again, not surprised at all. I bet if you check LGBT individuals by location, you'll tend to find them in high concentrations where there are high concentrations of religious individuals overall and vice versa for areas that are more secular.

We should inform the Republican Party that religion causes Homosexuality.
Wait.
Send an email. The head explosions would be messy.
One of the follow up tables hints in this direction.

All I know is, my gut says maybe.I'm Christian and I'm not L, G, B, or T. Ah, yes, I'm not a true Christian.

So....blauregen, what are you up to later?
It was an honorTSM: just to clarify, you've no issue with a "Stupid Christianz for the Stupidz" viewpoint as long as it's coming from a "humanity is stupidz by default" position, right?

He lives alone with his male cat. Either gay or asexual. Yet preaches about defence of family values, the hypocrite.

My President is Funny Valentine.Well, he probably makes a saving on the bed of nails going for the repressive self-flagalation and personal suppression via public oppression, at any rate. <shivers>
Exactly.
Or even more to the point, more like "Some Christians rule, some drool, but many tend to be really fervent either way."
In other news; some believe churches that refuse to condone same-sex marriages could lose non-profit status.
I say, so be it. It's time for the Church to make a stand and look the liberal agenda in the eye and say "Well, we're not moving. So....do what you have to."

It was an honorAnd, some are "the Liberal Agenda" (is that a thing?).
You have to admit, some Churches are better at the "love they neighbour" thing than others.
How could churches possibly lose nonprofit status for refusing to support/perform gay marriages?
Really the only thing that could take away that status might be some political activities done in reaction to the decision, but that's a toothless standard anyway- many churches are very openly political (in either direction) and in no danger of losing their nonprofit status.
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikihey, hey, Its not a liberal agenda. Its just our secret plan to kill all human-er...uh...*cough(

The most edgy person on the Internet.Oh ffs. "We'll have to pay more taxes! This is the end of the world!"
If I was in charge of determining which religious institutions in the U.S. got tax-exempt status we'd have paid our deficit off two years ago.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.Liberals are way too up in the clouds to ever be a serious threat to all human life. Of course, then there's this to consider.
This. Fucking this. It was an honor
I think the issue is, or should, be more like this: What if the government decides that Churches that preach "Racism is bad!" should lose tax except status? It probably will never happen, but it's the princible of the thing.
At what point does the government get to decide what the churches can and can't preach?

The most edgy person on the Internet.Well put Ringsea.
It was an honorAll churches should lose tax exception, by the way.

My President is Funny Valentine.I agree that Churches should have to pay taxes but I'd prefer religiously funded charities did not.
@Starship: Is a Christian allowed to use "up in the clouds" as an insult?

You could of course just have churches pay taxes like any other civilized country.
Bar those that have an official state religion. Which you guys should get, because there's no faster way to make more atheists than by having a state religion.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.(Shrug) My sins are forgiven.
