Need some help, when I open Desura it tells me there are updates for some games and clicking in the task bar symbol it says status> games-4, how do I apply the updates?
Click the two arrow things in circle thing, you know, thing that looks like refresh button
Oh, thank you.
No problem.
BTW; if you buy Xenonauts, be beware that updating game is kind of hard. Probably because Desura has mostly smaller games so with type of game as Xenonauts its rather buggy when trying to update
Thank you, but to be honest, almost of my Desura games comes from bundles keys the rest where already installed in my pc and Desura added them to my Desura games (like Half Life 2).
I've bought a game directly from Desura. I have Explodemon.
Unfortunately it runs slightly laggy on my computer.
It lags somewhat on my computer too, and I had direct download from indie royale. Haven't bothered to change settings
Same I have played it, it didn't lag, I think.
To the person who was pimping Unepic...it's in the latest Indie Royale bundle, the July Jubilee.
^Thats me So have you finally played it?
No, still haven't gotten around to it yet.
And I don't have money to buy the bundle right now... :(
Aww, dang it D:
I have been playing it and it is awesome, right know I am in the mines having completed the oracle quest and trying to do the evade the falling rocks for a minute challenge.
Wohoo :D
It is sad that it will probably never be released in Steam, that would gave it more exposure.
Yup Especially since Steam's reason for it is BS.
One of the reasons I read was that it was because of all the copirighted references.
Maybe it'll get a chance at being on Steam when Steam Greenlight launches.
I hopped on recently when I heard that it supports Linux. It's a bit iffy with the launchers (some games launch from .sh files when Desura's looking for a .exe), but it works well otherwise, so I'm happy to have a bit of extra fun that has native Linux support.

I'm a regular at GOG.com since all of their games are free of any kind of DRM. I'm thinking about getting a Desura account since i heard they don't like DRM as well but will put it if a developer wants it on their games. So does Desura have any kind of DRM that might hinder you playing their games?
I think the way Desura does it is that its wrapper program that looks like the Steam wrapper actually isn't DRM, and you can open games without starting the wrapper. But instead, they just let individual games decide their own DRM.
You may also want to check out Gamers Gate, which is DRM-agnostic but will tell you on each game's page whether the product is DRM-free.
Basically, they have a program that's similar to Steam's which won't allow you to play their games unless you login to Steam. However for Desura, not all of their games are required for you to login to Desura so you can play them without opening that program. Is that correct?
Yes, that is correct.
I'm considering getting an account with Desura, but, having not heard much about it, am looking for opinions on it.
So, to those of you who have used Desura (or have heard from those who have used it), what do you think of it? Is it intrusive? Is it reliable? Do their licences allow them to revoke games at any time? (To give an example of a service that doesn't ask such control, Good Old Games — with which I already have an account — may remove games at times, but any such games already bought and downloaded can still be installed and played, as best as I'm aware.) How is their customer service? Any other thoughts, caveats or recommendations for it?

Well is pretty much Left 4 Dead with mayans "demons" that look like people and just one weapon with infinite ammo and you recover health by eating hearts that are everywhere, horrible AI and maps where you can get lost because you don't know where to go. Here have a pair of videos about it:
