Toonami is back?

It would need to prove itself first before it gets anything big.

On AdWeek, De Marco said he "knows we'd get more money if we simply reran Family Guy in that slot instead, but we love anime and want to give it another chance on TV." Plus, the article made it clear that old favorites like Dragon Ball Z are now too popular for Adult Swim to afford!

^ Ironic, given that Toonami is likely a huge part of why it's so popular over here in the first place.

They achieved that goal 10 years ago or so. Now, the playing field has changed.

You would think being the reason behind the popularity would earn them some favors, but no, TV license holders are ungrateful sacks of shit no matter what country your in.

So are film license holders. Why does this always happen to franchises I like?

Because those in charge only consider money to be the most important thing.

And rightfully so. They are running a business after all, and if they're not looking at the bottom line who will be?

Considering anime has been out of fashion for some time doing this at all is a risky move. I applaud [as] for doing it at all, even if it is with baby steps.

This could be anime's second wind, so let's hope Toonami AS isn't a failed experiment.

So there is whisper that Toonami may get non-Anime series in the future as well. Any idea what could fit?

I never really counted Panty and Stocking as an "Anime", it really only has that label because it's made in Japan by Gainax.

You just stated my own textbook definition of anime. That, and the makers need to be Japanese.

Why do we have 2 "Toonami Is Back" threads?

One for the Anime and Manga boards, one for the Western Animation boards.

This one's been less active because there's no Western Animation on Toonami yet.

Except technically for TOM and the Absolution.

Thinking it'd probably be better to bump this thread than continue another thread that's redundant.

I know it'd be a short run, but I'd love to see Star Wars Clone Wars re-air sometime.

This thread is a lot longer than the other one in the Western Animation thread, so if there is gonna be a thread talking about Toonami in this sub-forum, it should be this one.
