Toonami is back?

All the signs I see say, yes this time and nothing that has been brought up by anyone negates my current view which I know for a fact is not just held by me. It's a cliffhanger!

And we keep telling you it isn't a cliffhanger if they have no intention of ever answering those questions.

Perhaps we should move on from this? It doesn't appear that any of us are going to convince Vyctorian that "Things Change" wasn't a cliffhanger. Shame to see this thread devolve into an argument about semantics.

Not semantics, no. Rather, it's a debate over what constitutes a resolved story line or not, and whether intent or the themes of a plotline outweigh unanswered questions in terms of resolution.

If it were semantics, it would more along the lines of us pointing out that he really means is "Hanging Plot Thread," not "Cliffhanger."

And besides, it was resolved.

No, it's just one with a definition that probably shouldn't be used loosely.

If anything, revealing her identity weakens the point the episode is trying to get across. In fact I'm almost certain it is. I think fans who complain about this are a case of Completely Missing The Point.

I see your CMTP and respond with Death of the Author. Also there was another things brought up in that episode too that were left hanging as well.

I see it differently, and I know I'm not the only one who does.

Teen Titans ended the way it was intended to. Yes, its left open. Intentionally so. Was I satisfied with that? Not really. Its not to my taste. I still respect that that's the way they wanted it to end. You may want more closure, but the episode specifically goes in such a manner that indicated that sometimes the only closure you get is to just move on. A fitting message, I suppose, for a last episode.

Could it be used as a jumping off point for a revival? I suppose. Though it would hurt the message of the last episode. I wouldn't mind too terribly, since I'd like to see more of the show, but I'd much rather something new. Young Justice is doing well enough, and while it'll never be the same as TT, its good by its own merits and TT is done and over with.

Actually TT is being rebooted, same universe but a different premise and tone, and likely a different storyline.

As for the ending, I'm not saying it was bad I'm just saying it does qualify as a cliffhanger ending in terms of plot. We're given two events both of which are built up as important and both are left hanging as if over a cliff at the end.

Do we even know that much about GO! yet? Anyway, no matter. Its already divorced in my mind from TT proper. I'm going to look at it as its own entity and judge it accordingly.

From what I can tell it's going to be in the same universe and pick up where TT left off but ignore all the serious story lines in place of the silly ones.

You're not using Death of the Author (A practice I'm pretty weary of in general; Authorial Intent, if obtainable, should always factor into appreciating a work, though I'm for using it to uncover Unconcious things an author puts into his writing) to uncover any deep meaning or anything; you're just mad Beast Boy didn't get his Woobie for you to fawn over and objectify. To me that's just childish and the exact mentality the show is saying people should get over.

How have the ratings been for Sym and Thunder on Toonami?

Probably already said.
The [AS] crew needs to stop goofy around and give the Saturday back to the anime/action viewers. I have no issue with staying up as I am an insomniac, but it's safe to say that the scheduling is ridiculous. Or the least they can do is start the line up at 10PM.

The podcast guys at Toonamifaithful.com implore us not to mention expanding the hours of the block ever again. This is the Toonami they gave us, it will stay like this. Toonami has never aired beyond 6 hours, or on the weekdays for years, and as far as we can predict, it never will. So, they told us to stop.

Well perhaps not ever, but it would certainly help if there was less talk of that.

@Vyctorian: Then tell me exactly what would have BB knowing it was Terra or not added to the episode, when the theme was him moving on? Do you not think it was a good theme?

I mean to me, the show is all about 'you can't always get what you want'. You aren't always going to get the answers you want out of life. But you have to roll with the punches.
