With the superhero setting my gaming group uses, most heroes (both NP Cs and other) have a "don't kill unless there's no other option left" mentality. Obviously, certain types (such as Expies of The Punisher, or characters from the early 90's) don't really believe this philosophy.

Embroiled in slave rebellion, I escaped crucifixion simply by declaring 'I am Vito', everyone else apparently being called 'Spartacus'.

Notably, the "Captain America and Bucky killed enemy soldiers in WWII" thing came in right after a Cosmic Cube timey-wimey story so we can say "the Cap in the stories where he never or very seldom killed did in fact never kill—the Cap in the stories where he did are also true at the time they are published."

I heard Ed Brubaker got rid of that "Cap didn't kill anyone during WWII" bit. That's good because you can't convince me that all he did in battle was clunk Nazis to sleep with his shield.

That would be a lot of PO Ws.

"Okay, look, Cap, you're going to have to start shooting some of these guys. The ones you've already brought back cost more to feed than the entire Marine Corps."
