I'm curious whats the first 10 aliens. On one hand they could keep original 10 but then again toyetic shows like these usually like to introduce at least one new fresh hip character to get people's attention.

So far, my biggest fear is that we lose characters like Darkstar, Paradox, Albedo or Rook in favor of bunch of forgetable villains/side-characters of a week, keeping only OS guys like Vilgax and Animo.

[up]My fear exactly.

[up][up]True, but on the other hand that could also mean we would no longer have the character evolve and develop.

OK, more thoughts.

- Looking at picture, I have one complaint. Omnitrix. Even putting aside that button is on wrong side which I hope will be fixed, it painfully simplistic. It looks as if someone glued Omnitrix's lid and button on wristband. Shirt also looks less iconic, but thats nitpick. - I hope simple graphics will lead to smooth fluid animation like in The Spectacular Spider-Man - I already see people commenting that its "too early for reboot", that we should get break from Ben like Powerpuff Girls or Xiaolin did... Did someone missed all these Transformers shows? - Man of Action as executive producers sounds like good idea. On one hand they will make sure aliens are cool, season has arc and Vilgax is scary, but on another if they're not direct writers, they wont write bad jokes, bratty heroes, bland plots and what they think counts as depth.

[up]Sorry, link broken.

Agree on the Transformers argument. If Transformers can get a reboot every two years, why not Ben 10?

Fixed.

Besides, technically Ben 10 about 10 years old was over six ago.

Thanks.

Now that you mention it, yes, the button is on the wrong side. I honestly didn't notice...

Seems to me like they just gave the Omnitrix its old design back...

Compare one with another Even in Omniverse it was more detailed.

The Galvans are so advanced in this new continuity, that there is no need for extraneous detail.

:P

I actually did like Omniverse's completed Omnitrix design, even if in practice it suffered even more bugs and a complete lack of a manual for what weren't bugs.

[up]"lack of manual"? Just out of curiosity, could you elaborate?

Basically it seems like if there wasn't a bug in the Omnitrix, then it was a feature that went completely unexplained or just wasn't mentioned, leaving Ben to discover it by accident, often to his detriment, like the Randomizer Feature or the like.

Things like that make me think that the Omnitrix needs a goddamned manual. Or, if you don't feel like killing trees, then a built-in tutorial.

Ah, yes, the Randomizer. I still stand by my theory Azmuth was high when he came up with that function. That, or he just wanted to be a dick with Ben. Because there is no friggin way the smartest being in five galaxy could decide a function causing the bearer to randomly turn into various aliens with no control at all would be useful.

Nah it was just terrible writing/the writers trying to be cute/show off more aliens without putting any thought into why such a thing would be idiotic.

Yeah, but I overthink even dumb things.

I wish that they'd emphasize the Omnitrix's role as an "in-your-shoes" object instead of just as a weapon, as per Azmuth's original intention. It feels like that rarely ever comes up.

I do admit that I prefer the "learning curve" aspect shown in the original series (even if the fact they were many times shown after Ben learned how to use them was a cheat) and Omniverse, as opposed to most of the cases involving Instant Expert in UAF, which was apparently due to routines in the Omnitrix instantly telling the wearer how to use such abilities (not dissing the sequels, mind you. Honest.)

I'd prefer instant expert than main character flounders around like an idiot. At least UAF had that one scene with Ben and Kevin where it mentioned that Ben did train and try to figure out his alien abilities offscreen. Wish we would have had more of that.

I wasn't saying I wanted Ben to flounder around like an idiot. I was just saying I like when he has to learn his abilities on the spot.

I thought Gravattack's first fight was a great example of that.

[up][up] Dont take it wrong way, but did you ever said anything positive about Omniverse?

Yes many times.

I congratulated them on the majority of what they did with Rook.

I liked that Kyber was a fresh change from what we usually got in villains.

Gravattack was an amazing alien that I enjoyed.

Esthar was a fun character that I wished they had developed more.

Everything that had to deal with Rook's family was pretty cool.

I liked Charmcaster's redesign.

Malware was pretty good too along with Psychobos being somewhat interesting as an evil representative of one of Ben's aliens.

I liked Looma's initial appearance and Attea. (Well everything with them up til that garbage filler villain episode they were both featured in.)

That whole two-parter featuring none Omnitrix Ben was pretty good.

Other then that, everything else was kind of trash.

As much as I like AUF much better than OV, I got to agree with Etheru here. Ben having to learn his abilities the first time he get them actually made more sense and made it easier to identify with him. The problem with that in Omniverse wasn't that he had to learn his new abilities, it was that it took him waaaaaay too long, he made no effort in some case (outright stating Pesky Dust is lame before even knowing what it does) and the Omnitrix somehow kept giving him trouble to chose aliens even long after he should have learnt using it.

Guys, I heard something about show....

"Alright, I’ll alert everybody: the show is mostly about crazy, weird comedy like other CN shows :p That’s why I haven’t told you any more news about the reboot. I thought it might cause some major s**tstorm. A friend of mine who works at CN told me there IS some action, but mostly comedy. So there’s a high possibility that it’s gonna be like TTG. He said he’s not really a huge fan of it, either, and he worked on Omniverse. So I assume it might be even sillier than OV. I might be wrong, but they’ll start production for real around this fall. Well, at least they didn’t cancel the project."

Person who worked on show. Same one who first said there will be reboot.

... Damn. Not reassuring. Seems Cartoon Network never learns.

I thought the reboot seemed interesting to go back to its roots, but now I lost all hope for it.

The design is simplistic and the foretelling seems to me that it is indicative of being a horrid show.

Uugh well at the very least this might mean Omniverse will no longer be the worse entry.
