Goku on the other hand could have ended things then & there with just the SS 3.

Maybe. He thinks he can but we don't know if he actually could. Seeing as how SSJ3 Goku was fighting about on par with Pure Boo, the weakest form of Majin Boo other than Mr. Boo, at the end of the saga, I doubt that he actually could.

At the very least he might not have been able to do it in the amount of time he had.

I miss the concept of Mastered Super Saiyan, like when Goku and Gohan fought Cell.

And then it never came up again for the other transformations.

Barring Super Saiyan Blue in the Toyotaro manga, yeah, I supposed so.

You know, come to think of it, it's still impressive that Universe 9 was able to scrape together a full team with the time that was given.

I'm more surprised that they have cool and interesting designs instead of throwaway, gonna-ring-out-in-the-first-five-minutes designs.

How would you tell that?

Like these guys have a distinctive look but not the feeling but then again they just now appeared after all.

It'd be funny if U9 managed to last until the end because everyone underestimated them or found them safe to ignore.

With the hate on most everyone has for Universe 7, that could easily happen.

I wonder which Universe will play the "meta" game, meaning that rather than the obvious free-for-all in the center, just skirt the edges and wait for someone to get separated from their teams and pounce?

I vote Universe 4. Quitela seems devious enough to pull it off.

Pure Boo is stronger than Fat Boo, for starters, and Goku being alive was an additional burden.

When Goku realizes he made a mistake, it's because he underestimated the effect of being alive. He never retracts his claim that he could beat Fat Boo.

But yes, 3's drain is definitely offset by the power. Look at Vegeta vs Pure Boo.

Or how Piccolo and Goku agreed that SS 2 Goku, Vegeta and Gohan working together would be destroyed by Fat Boo.

I thought Fat Boo was stronger but less prone to the kind of violence Pure Boo loves.

Actually, is Pure Buu stronger than Majin Buu, or is he stronger than Good/Mr. Buu, cause the only Buu we ever see Pure Buu fight is Mr. Buu, and he's supposed to be at his weakest since he doesn't have his evil half inside him anymore, which you know, contained at least half of his full power, most likely more since it seems like the split was uneven in terms of the power split.

Makes sense. Evil in universe 7 is usually stronger than good unless said good is Goku anyway.

Just finished the Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle. Honestly, with a bit of tweaking, this would have been a far more interesting introduction to Launch than what the manga used.

It might not have allayed her pure Joke Character status, but maybe Toriyama could have figured out something if he'd been willing.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense for Pure Boo to be stronger than Majin Boo (the first one we see). Pure Boo hasn't absorbed anyone so his power is as low as it can get while Majin Boo has absorbed at least the Daikaioushin and so would have his power added to his own.

Wasn't it pointed out that absorbing Dai Kaio or whatever worked differently than the other absorption? Pretty sure that was a thing.

Technically he's the Kaioshin now, due to the retcons Toriyama made with Super having only one per universe.

Goku can't be good. He's a Saiyan.

I did see a Japanese fan comic recently where Goku discovered he could no longer ride on Nimbus thanks to all the lying he did this arc...

Pure doesn't mean good in Dragon Ball. Vegeta achieving Super Saiyan while still fully evil is proof of that. I'd be willing to bet that Pure Boo could ride the Nimbus since his heart should be pure chaos.

Also, while Vegeta was a dick, I don't know if I'd call him pure evil after Namek. He's just selfish and uncaring about any lives he might destroy. Or kill while fighting a cyborg. Or blow up to coerce his boyfriend to punch him in the face.

Vegeta wasn't pure evil. In Dragon Ball, as far as I can tell, being pure has nothing to do with good and evil or any sort of morality. Being pure simply means that you have no emotional or spiritual baggage. There's nothing extraneous holding you down. The only thing in your heart is you and nothing else. As far as I can tell, that's what Dragon Ball's definition of "pure" means and why the original form of Majin Boo is called Pure Boo (or Majin Boo Pure) in Japanese. It's the form of Majin Boo that contains nothing else but Majin Boo.

Do remember that Dragon Ball is a work that was created in Japanese by a Japanese guy for Japanese markets. Japan's culture is heavily influenced by Buddhism which carries with it completely different meanings and connotations for certain terms when compared to the West where the major influence is Christianity. As such, our definition of "pure of heart" and their definition of "pure of heart" are not one in the same. Although our definition of the term also counts as an example in their definition.

Of course, Goku is, or at least was, pure of heart according to the Western definition as evidenced by the Devilmite Beam.
