At this point, I'd have to assume that Black is some kind of counterpart to Zamasu from Universe 7 who somehow gained Goku's body.
Although there's also the possibility that there is a Stable Time Loop and taking on Goku's form made Zamasu forget the original encounter. I suppose we'll just have to wait to get the full story.
Meanwhile, 18 seemed to have fun teasing Trunks about killing her, and Trunks is gonna receive training from Blue-per Saiyan Vegeta. We'll see how that goes.
One Strip! One Strip! There is no Counterpart in Universe 7. As the two Universe's are not counterparts.
Goku is such a goof now. He always was in the anime sure, his sillier moments are less endearing (like protecting a pterodactyl's eggs) and more blisteringly stupid (falls out of the sky when he arrives in Universe 10, doesn't understand personal space around Zamasu, gets hit by Beerus for being stupid). It's worse than Eren being Levi's pack mule in AOT.
Goku it's even worse for because he's paid his dues - studied under 3 different masters, possibly more in Otherworld, spent a period of his life roaming the world learning from his adventures, and settled down. Now he gets smacked around for not being a taciturn stick in the mud like Vegeta.
What's that rule though, universes that add up to 12 are twin universes? Presumably the same Kais, similar Gods of Destruction? Universe 10 and 2 could be the same, one with an evil Zamasu.
Still wouldn't explain why he came to the original Universe 7... also weird how alternate versions of Goku, Beerus, and Whis are hopping dimensions all willy-nilly. Evidently the universe doesn't care all that much about who came first. Still, Gowasu and Zamasu are "talking to their alternate dimension neighbors one timeline removed." What would happen if the Beerus and Whis from Trunks's timeline decided they wanted to figure out who Black was and came to Universe 10 themselves?
-
Trunks should just move to the alternate timeline. Pretty much everybody he knew ended up living happier lives. Except for 16 perhaps.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
From what we've seen so far of the different universes, there are no real "doubles", as the divergences can be so huge that entire histories could be different. See how Cabba's saiyans differ so much from Goku and Vegeta's saiyans. Hence also why none of the Kaiohshins we've seen so far even remotely resemble each other, much less have the same personalities.
Really, it would have been VERY easy to have gone the Dragonball Multiverse way, but yeah, I'm glad that it's not so cut and dry.
Universes that add up to 13 are counterparts. So 10's counterpart would be 3.
Universes that add up to 13 are twins.
As Universe 6 is 7's twin and it's shown that they are still very very different. Champa being Beerus' counterpart. The Kai's from 6 were also very different.

Beerus is 7, Champa is 6.
Ugh, I cringe every time F. Trunks, P. Trunks and Mai are on screen. Plz staph.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.We can't.
Toriyama's gonna toriyama. He's gonna have his Trunks and Mai relationship and nothing will stop it, so whether we like it or not, we have to deal with it.
I'm done being angry about it to be honest.
One Strip! One Strip! Its less because of the "age gap" crap, I don't actually care about that. More that its cringy as fuck to watch Trunks basically compete with....himself.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You know, this episode actually confirms something that should have been obvious: Kaio and Kaioshin have actual names. I wonder what Universe 7's North Kaio's and East Kaioshin's are?
....
Good point.
Actually, wait. Kibito is also a Kaioshin isn't he? So them having names isn't so crazy.
One Strip! One Strip!Kibito appears to be of the same race, but he isn't a Kaioshin. Just a Kaioshin's bodyguard.
He's actually a standard Kai, not of the Supreme Race, IIRC. He's just abnormally strong.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI just read a semi-plausible theory on Zamasu's connection to Black: he splits into a good and evil half in order to become a Kaioshin, much like Kami and Demon King Piccolo, then Black steals a Time Ring and goes to Universe 7 to wreck havok. Obviously there are holes, like why Black looks like Goku, why Black doesn't remember fighting Goku, and why Black goes to Future Trunks' timeline, but it's one of the better theories I've heard so far.
:(
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Just a frown?
I had a similar theory pages ago. :( I'm frowning at my inability to patent anything.
Since Super has had Oolong take part in the Beerus battle, and it brought back Kaioken for a bit, and Great Saiyaman, and Frieza, and Ginyu - there's a pattern emerging. They even brought back the Pilaf Gang and Future Trunks. So with all of the setup they've given us so far, I'd wager they're bringing that back as well.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The fact that they kept calling Karrot a human kinda bugged me...usually expected Kais to be up to snuff on the universal knowledge department.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Sorry, must've missed it. Also, 'human' should actually be 'mortal'. Blame bad subtitles.
Pretty sure they mean Human as in "mortals", as in beings who are not on the same authority as the gods. Which Goku technically counts among.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oh yeah, this episode also confirms that there is no biological difference between 'Kaio' and 'Kaioshin', since Zamasu was explicitly a Kaio training to become a Kaioshin.
Zamasu sure has a chip on his shoulder. Well, at least he doesn't suck as much as Universe 7 Kaioshins. He'd wipe the floor with Boo pretty easily. Still, I wonder how he would look if he knew that Goku still has two stronger forms he hasn't used.
Trunks meeting with 18 was so wonderfully awkward. She seemed to have a blast.
No, it means that Freeza's likely to destroy his spaceship accidentally if he's not transforming to restrain his power.
First Form Freeza can make a point by making a minion's head explode. True Form Freeza would make that minion's entire body explode and likely punch a massive hole into his spaceship.
