Is this a bad way to start off a story?

I'm working on a story about romance and dating, and right now I'm working on the introduction and such. I don't know whether I want to add superpowers or keep it realistic and modern since it's based on the people and events in my life. Here it is. I know it's not very much, but I would like to know what do you guys think?

On a side note; what would be a perfect ability for the Grumpy Bear using Heart Beat-Down?

How far have you got that you don't know whether or not you want superpowers in the work?

Not too far, I'm still planning things out as of now. I may consist keeping it realistic with no powers seeing it makes it all less complicated. I'm just curious on what people see a Grumpy Bear would use the power of love in his own way.
