And?

It's a video. Big whoop.

Why should anyone watch it?

Just because Link-Discuss threads aren't prohibited outside of OTC doesn't mean that they're encouraged.

Well, if you visit the official site, you find out it's by most of the same guys who did Titan Quest:

Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game intended for digital distribution on the PC. It is being developed by veterans of Iron Lore entertainment, the makers of Titan Quest. Grim Dawn is being built with Crate's own improved version of the Iron Lore engine and toolset; the same technology used to create Titan Quest. As a spiritual successor, Grim Dawn will attempt to better perfect the magical formula of exploration, character advancement, and loot collection pioneered by Diablo.

Oh, and the devs promise it'll be a $20 digital title.

Neat. And yeah, OP, it would have helped to put those next couple facts, a link to the main site, and some general info about it in the opening post.

I never played Titan Quest, but I knew of it, of course. How'd it compare as a Diabloesque?

Titan Quest was pretty fun, I certainly enjoyed it. As far as Diablo-template games goes, it was pretty good. It's certainly worth checking out if one can get it on Steam sales.

So my buddy recommended this game to me recently as it was on sale on Steam, so I picked it up and am thoroughly enjoying it so far.

So I bit the bullet and bought Grim Dawn. Between this and Underrail, I'm set for games this year.

Gotta say, I forgot how much I missed Diablo-esque games like this one.

Congrats. I played it and the thing I like most about this game is that there are tons of character build for each class.

I'm starting with a Soldier, and planning to build it to Death Knight. I've heard it's a pretty solid build.

Even Death Knight have many build. You could be a summoning Death Knight with aura buffing minions or life drain Death Knight.

So I'm leveling a Death Knight using Force Wave. Damn, I forgot how satisfying it is to tear through enemy hordes in games like this.

Recently came back to this game after a while and was wondering if anyone else still plays it.

My current character is a bleed-based Shaman/Occultist. Turns out if you stack enough bleed resistance reduction debuffs you can make ghosts and skeletons bleed to death, which is gloriously nonsensical.

I want to stay I still play it but that would be incorrect, after all, I only bought it this/last year wink

But yeah, Grim Dawn is great, the gameplay loop is super fun and the system of mixing classes allows for some great replayability. Another thing I'm particularly fond of is its worldbuilding and lore, a zombie apocalypse/cosmic horror mashup is inherently interesting to me as a premise and I think Grim Dawn executes it quite well.

If/when Grim Dawn 2 comes around I think I'd like if they could overhaul and expand the system of gaining approval/hatred with factions, it has quite a bit of potential but it's kind of crazy grind-y right now. It doesn't hurt the game but it does seem like missed opportunities.
