What I want to know is why did Angelica throw a cloak over Julian? Was she trying to hide his identity? But everyone recognized there was a totally different person under there immediately, and then he stood up like three seconds later, not bothering to hide himself. So, what exactly was the point of that?
Seems like it might just a cheap way for the writers to try to build suspense to me, but wasted since it only bought a few seconds of not knowing who was under it.
There's no point in building suspense to just break it a few seconds later...it's just a waste.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. They had to stop Beatrice from taking in too much of his magnificence in one go lest she glomp him with the full might of lightning.
x3 She felt that they should hide his true identity, but Julian overruled her because he didn't give a flying fuck if they found out.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!Oh, so Darius has been dead for ages. Liked how the shroud was taken care of. RULE BREAKER, BITCH!
Julian looks like hell. World-saving can do that to a person.
For a minute, I thought Julian somehow acquired the universe's strongest metal.
Please, Ilya went through a lot of trouble to reunite with Miyu. No way she was gonna let her take Julian's hand.
Now, let there be EMIYA!

It really shows the power of Rule Breaker. Only seeing it nullify the servant contract in F/SN made its ability to dispel any magic feel like an Informed Ability.

Give the God Eater game thread some love!I never got that impression, because I always felt that the Servant contract felt like some pretty powerful magic as it was.
But yes, it is very cool to see Rule Breaker getting used.
You can really see why it had to be taken out of play. It's just so useful against any purely magical effect.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobWelp, that was a disappointing episode.
Silver Link ran out of budget at the worst possible time.
Let's be fair, though - Sakura's introduction was creepy as fuck, as is right and proper, and Miyu's voice actor did one hell of a good job with her Gilgamesh impression, holy shit that was a treat to listen to.
Other than that, yeah no the poor animation ruined what was otherwise an absurdly awesome battle sequence.

Let's hope for a BD fix?
You mean...the battle could've been even better...
That's a lot more disappointing when someone hasn't seen it yet.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Well, let's be honest, Silver Link had no hope of matching Unlimited Budget Works, so what we got honestly wasn't too bad.
Hi, Sakura! Bye, Sakura! Creepy as shit, even creepier than the manga. And yes, Miyu's VA's Gilgamesh impression was fantastic, as was Ko-Gil's realization of what the Ainsworths were really up to. Also, classic-style EMIYA theme for the win.
The problem is that the subpar animation (and arguably weaker-than-hoped-for music) aren't the only issues, there's also the incredibly rushed pacing. They crammed AT LEAST 2 episodes worth of content. Content that many people consider the highlight of this entire first half of 3rei. Emiya fighting shadow servants and then Angelica-Gil should have been one episode with surprise Sakura, Gil vs Beatrice, Saber Ilya fighting shadow Servants with Excalibur, ect been another. They probably didn't think ahead and only just now realized they wanted to end the season right before Shirou flashback arc for next season or movie so are now rushing ahead through all the content trying to cram a ton of plot and fights into just a few episodes.
While the previous final boss battles against Bazette spanned 3 episodes and Ko-gil 4, here the main hyped Shirou fight with Angelica lasted less than half an episode and they didn't animate many interesting panels like Beatrice exclaiming "I can't believe that piece of shit card beat Gilgamesh!". It was so fast they skipped panels such as the Fate/Zero fanservice of Lancelot!Sakura catching Gilgamesh!Miyu's blade spam, which could have at least been shown if not animated to the splendor seen in Fate/Zero. They also didn't really show Beatrice shocking Enkidu chains with lightning causing Ko-Gil to let go, so now it looks like Thor just broke out with pure strength.
Nonetheless, contentwise it's still pretty awesome stuff for anime only viewers, so some disappointed fans are taking the salt too far, but it's just a shame it didn't hit the pinnacle it deserved.
I read that the key animator for better-received fights in Prisma Ilya was busy working on another project this episode, so maybe they'll contribute to fixes for Blu-ray. So while fixing animation and panel adaptation in BD won't solve all the problems, we'll just have to take what we can get.

Fucking Quality!
Don't Think, Imasine.
Sakuralot's voice acting felt kinda weak,for a broken,crazed Yandere.
Secret SignatureShe's still the same voice actress as usual, right? If so, weird, because she's always talking on how much she loves the character and how much effort she puts into her. Let's hope she can pull it off in the Heaven's Feel movies, and the Fate Extra anime, assuming it gets to adapt any CCC stuff, because those will be the real trials by fire for her.

Funny seeing this Shirou readily accept the role of villain.
Angelica was given quite the cold shoulder
S-Sakura!? Well, that was quite the random appearance. Wonder if she'll appear again...
For a moment, Miyu felt how it was like to be an egotistical overlord. Man that sudden voice change was epic.
Yeah, Sakura was really random.
Dang, the fight scenes don't look up to snuff. Still not all that bad though. Shirou and Kuro tag team was great.
Wonderful hypocrisy on Angelica's part, calling Shirou a "Faker" when she's just borrowing another's power herself. Shirou calling her out on it was delicious. And seeing him and Kuro fight side by side with identical combat styles was more awesome than I thought.
I did wonder how Beatrice managed to break free of Enkidu, so thanks person who explained how that happened above. Why Gil didn't just kill her when he had the chance is beyond me, though. Gilgamesh shouldn't have any moral compunctions against doing that, even if he does look like a child right now.

Slightly less impressive visually...wasn't too bad. Not disappointed.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Now to hope it gets streamed.
Welp, I should've expected a movie version of the flashback to get it over and done with. Shame the manga hasn't progressed further since then, for some reason.
The remaining fight was great, and the last half was great as well. Miyu getting hopelessly embarrassed and hitting Kuro with a pillow is absolutely adorable.
Yeah, I like the how the manga did that scene better, though that's partially because it's split up by the cliffhanger - the episode here ends approximately page 19/20 of a 28 page chapter, and so the reveal is paced better and we get a better look at exactly how badass he is.
Which is significant.
