I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what this episode finally did.

My main issue is I just know that this is going to bleed into the next season, with Donnie continuing to play the Dogged Nice Guy even though the writing is pretty damn clear on the wall.

My only issue is how underused Karai has been. So far in this season she's only been handed the Distress Ball and, post-mutation, is now nothing more than a glorified background element.

It feels like her character got shafted.

Yeah, that avatar's a 'Shop of my real face.

Poor Leatherhead and Kirby need to take a nice relaxing vacation somewhere where nothing crazy will mess up their day.

I liked how Raph was in big-brother mode all throughout the episode, sticking up for Donnie against Casey and hugging Mikey.

All three Raph/Mikey hugs were great, but that one in the sewers... yeesh. The feels.

Just watched it a second time and anybody else curious as to what Splinter's plan would've been?

Keep fighting Gilbert Gottfried until his sons escape?

I wouldn't put it past him to lie about having a more complex plan just to get the boys to leave.

Outside of my complaints about Donny/April, I really did dig the finale.

Donnie, Mickie and Raph all got to step up in their own ways with Leo out of commission which was awesome. So many iterations default to Leo and Raph being the ones constantly butting heads that it was actually interesting to see that it was Leonardo and Donatello for a change of pace.

As of the last 3 episodes I am officially baffled how we are supposed to believe the Kraang are a threat to anything.

Between Kurtzman, the time differential, and Kraang Prime claiming mutagen was responsible for human evolution, we are basically left with the information that the kraang have millions of years trying to conquer one planet, and only just now got as far as one city.

Any civilization in human history with half the technology and half the time the kraang have had could've finished the job easy. And yet even Newtralizer claims they are actually dangerous to more than just earth.

All of it just seems to add up to one really bad case of Informed Ability.

Pretty sure it said at one point they needed someone like April for them to complete their plan, and as it stands the Kraang have won.

Other than Kraang Prime, the other Kraang seemed pretty easy to beat.

[up][up]yeah, that doesn't make sense either. What has April done that contributed to this invasion? Nothing. She got nabbed a grand total of once, and they failed to retrieve more DNA. Plus, the clones were obviously not perfected, and the facility was trashed. By all accounts they perfected the muragen and began the invasion without her.

Maybe there are more Kraang/human hybrids out there? They've been around before humankind began, I'm sure there are some more of those they could have gotten the DNA from.

Wow. I mean, wow.

I will say this right away, Casey had it right from the trailers. This is WAY worse than the technodrome invasion last year.

I will say that last year did have a greater sense of urgency, that there was a real danger to how the Kraang were working that year to make things wrong for the world, but this finale. This finale was like a Gold capstone to a more interesting season.

I think this episode had my spine crawling the whole way through. The Irma reveal, the battle for the lair, the fear, Leo's heroic stand, Leatherhead and splinter working together, Shredder the unstoppable, The Turtle Mecha, the ending. I mean, wow. Ok, I think I'm going to say this now. Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles has just become my favorite american cartoon that's still showing new episodes at the moment. May the turtles rise again to destroy the kraang and defeat shredder again.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, who wants to bet that Slash and Leatherhead are going to team up next season?

Well, I definitely want Slash to do something. Maybe he's leading a rebellion against the Kraang. That would be neat.

Also, this seems like a perfect opportunity for the Newtralizer to make his reappearance.

I found it VERY cathartic to see Leatherhead thrash the living daylights out of Shredder. I just wish it had stuck. Is there a trope for villainous second wind? Because it feels like every villain on this show can't be kept down for very long at all.

Also, anyone else get a weird, almost regretful vibe from Shredder's demeanor after finally beating Splinter? I don't think he's SORRY, obviously, but he does seem to be feeling that post hate emptiness Splinter was warning him about.

[up] It's setting in to Saki that he's a very petty man, and let his hatred reduce him to this state. Of course, if Karai has finally rejected him for Splinter and say he helps her come to terms with being a snake, well, that might fuel Shredder's hatred right back up again, because now he'd see Splinter as practically mutating everything he touches and turning it against him. S'how a guy like that thinks.

I think they made the Shredder too powerful. Almost a Villain Sue after taking down Splinter and Leatherhead so easily.

I respectfully disagree, even after this I can see Splinter matching and beating Shredder. Also, Leatherhead has always struck me as Strong, but Unskilled.

I think Shredder is actually less powerful than his 2003 incarnation, who still managed to outclass the Turtles even as he became less and less relevant. There also never seemed to be any real way to defeat him aside from the writers deciding to let him be defeated.

[up] That goes without saying, also that Shredder was pretty much the 2003 version of Kraang. So yeah this Shredder is a wimp in comparison.

Then again 2k3 Splinter was kinda weak compared to this one, which makes sense considering that one was never human,...and Yoshi went out like a badass.

So yeah tit for tat.

So it's true, the next Season is coming out on October 3rd

As i've said before, there's just too much new coming this October! A new season of Legend of Korra, the premiere of the new show Star Wars: Rebels, now this, I feel so overwhelmed.

I can't miss any of these premieres, because i don't want to be left in dark about them. But i don't have time to let these shows give me material that will eat at my mind later on, my Birthday is coming up and I need time to get into the mood for that and Halloween. My thoughts are already feeling erratic because I read someone else's comment on the Season Finale, which had two scenes that were eating at my mind already. I'm going to pieces with all this new!
