^^^^The initial premise is quite similar (stuck in a particular region in Tokyo for one week with a deathclock that tells you when you die and an email that gives you new objectives everyday) but the gameplay and story ends up being very different.

Yeeeaaaaah. While I don't care for the Zero series that...yeah.
That's off topic though and so...what the devil is Fez.
^That could be it yes...I thought on it some after posting that and the music choices are likely part of it. They have very different soundtracks for RP Gs. Namely ones influenced by modern or popular music styles like hip-hop.
I feel that the character's issues and what sort they are part of it as well. Very modern issues that people can relate to like trouble with one's mom or being the unfavorite.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahEr one dude said it, oh I hope you guys didn't think I meant the ENTIRE team felt that way? No, just the director of the development team, Phil Fish. Ah I can see how the title can be a tad misleading.
x4 I actually just post my thoughts on that in the Megaman thread. Which is where we should be continuing this discussion btw.
x2 It's a game about Fez's. Fezzes are cool. I have no idea

"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterIt's clearly a licensed game for That 70s Show.
I can't seem to find anything on the company Fez, Google's backed up with articles on this incident and Wikipedia on nothing on the matter.
The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.Well at least it's a stylistic platformer...
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahFez is the game, not the company :/ Polytron is the company. Phil Fish is the director of Polytron and creator of the game.

While he was painting with overly broad strokes, and it was rude of him to phrase it that way, I can't say I disagree. Obviously there are still good Japanese games being made, but overall the ratio of good to bad hasn't been what it ought to be for the last few years.
Too often someone will make a rude comment only for everyone else to reassure themselves that "He's a nobody" or "He's totally wrong" so that they can ignore it.

Fez is a new 2D side scroller that gives you the ability to look at the world from different angles, ala Super paper Mario. It looks really fun.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaAh, got it. Optical illusions and such is interesting, I suppose.
Either way, this doesn't really seem to have any bearing on the matter. It can simply be summed up to "One guy with an oversized ego makes an uncalled for comment." Yeah, he shouldn't have said that and his opinion is largely meaningless until we actually get more information on his reasons but what more is there to discuss on it?
The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.Wait, what does his ego have to do with it? Someone asked him what he felt about Japanese developed games, and he said they suck.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaWell, I'm not sure what else would prompt someone to, at a professional environment, respond so harshly to a legitimate question. Sure, he could have stated his reasons and opinion without conveying it in an insulting manner. But hey, this way he got attention at least.
The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated. Why? I mean, someone asked him what he legitimately thought, and maybe he just thinks they suck. If he said this in an interview unprompted I'd agree, he should back it up and go into detail. But he didn't, someone asked him how he felt.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaIs it wrong that I found that tweet funny?
EDIT: Inclined to agree with Oufour here.

@Scythe: Also headphones.
Umbran Climax◊Not really no. I found it funny as shit.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahMaybe it's just me, but this might sink his reputation, and I imagine that having a bad reputation really hurts as an Indie developer.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelEh. This'll blow over in a few days tops.
Umbran Climax◊If that gets blown over, I'm really disturbed at how a jerk if something normal
How to put it? The videogame industry is, at its core, a business. Think of your typical person in a business suit or business dress. People like that, one way or another, have to deal with each other constantly. The same goes with the game design community. If they were to go around insulting each other, it'd just result in friction and a lot of people getting pissy.
Now, by him doing this, he's just hurt his company's chances of ever actually going anywhere and I won't be surprised if they drop him from the crew after this solely to stay afloat after all of that. It's not just common courtesy, it's business sense to not be a dick.
The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated. There has been a holler stating that this thread seems like a complaint thread. Maybe not so much complaining as snipe-y bitchy. Shutting it down.
Devil Survivor rules!!! Also what a bunch of jerks.
