True, but that is not better.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt would be at least a slight improvement, I think. It clearly associates purple glow with the levitating necklace, and indicates a purple character to be levitating it.
EDITED IN: A bit better than either, perhaps, would be go with this scene, which shows The Mysterious Mare Do Well levitating rocks.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartNo. That's just a glowing horn.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGlowing horn and glowing necklace, which I assumed would create some association between the two.
In any case, I've proposed another alternative. The show is a rich well of them.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThat other image is better, but I expect more people here before we put it up.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think the current image is best; there is a clear and strong association between wizardry and purple. In the first suggestion, I didn't see the floating thing, let alone the glow, until I went back and hunted for it, and I'm seeing the second as pink.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. The association is that the robe and wizard hat are partly purple. That seems like a pretty weak association if you ask me, not to mention relies on associating said robe and hat with witches/wizards. Even something of Trixie doing something evidently magic (like shooting a beam of energy from her horn) would be relatively more indicative.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThat is also good.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAny full shots of Trixie doing supernatural stuff?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. How about this?
Somewhat better.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlternative:
That has a wrong colour.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman.#11 works for me.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Either 11 or 3 works and is probably better than the current.
Reaction Image RepositoryProbably either in post 3, since while 11 shows a lot of air around the horn glowing purple, it doesn't actually show other effects of the magic; (namely, lifting a bear) we'd need a second screenshot for that, and using a second screenshot could easily be mistaken for the collage approach.
Either screenshot in post 3, on the other hand, shows it with just one.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartOkay, now what about Non MLPFIM pics, just so we don't look like we're only accepting one show to illustrate this trope?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That could also go. The ponies and that one are tied to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNot very indicative on the "supernatural" part.

Crown Description:
Deciding on a caption for the D&D pic◊.
The very show the image is from has for a protagonist a purple unicorn who does magic, and in some forms of it the air around her horn glows purple as she does so, and we pick of all characters a one-episode blue unicorn who just happens in this context to be wearing a hat and cape that are each partly purple? I think it would at the very least be an improvement to show something of Twilight Sparkle very evidently doing magic, such as levitating an object close by (preferably with the air around the object also showing a purple glow) or some other easily visible magic.
