Oh, wow, that's bad. Hope he can get the funding.
Kind of odd, though. Wasn't the whole Zero Escape thing quite successful? You'd think a title that's reasonably cheap to produce and easy to sell would be getting all the funds.
Reasonably's the key word. I recall putting in a pre-order for the sequel, and the store owner told me my copy was the only one the store was ordering for the 3DS, since games like that rarely sell, apparently.
If nothing else, he can maybe jettison some of the cost by making it an Eshop-only title, like what Ace Attorney did with Dual Destinies.

I have a message from another time...Both 999 and Virtue's Last Reward were much more popular overseas than in Japan and that's what seems to be stopping it from getting a sequel.
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogWell that sucks.
I got the game for free on PS+ for my Vita, and I tried it out on a whim. I haven't been that gripped by a story, let alone a hand-held, in ages. I haven't really followed this thread, but I've been meaning to.
Now I feel kind of bad getting it for free. Wish I knew some way to support the series...

You could buy a copy, either physically or (when the PS+ deal is over) digitally.

Are you planning on getting 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!I heard that version got rid of the puzzles, which feels a little backwards to me.
Maybe I'll just cave and get a 3DS, like everyone else.

The lack of puzzles is disappointing, but $5 is $5. Maybe if it does well, the 3rd games can still be made.
I suppose if either thing had to go, the puzzles are the vastly less important part...
It'll still require you to enter passwords, right?

I have a message from another time...Well, yes, but they are an essential part of the plot.
Kotaro Uchikoshi is working on a different title.
This is good. Should it get localized and perform well, ZE 3 will become all the more likely to get green-lit.
Since the puzzles are gone, I guess they'll get a gloss over in the narration and the questions that set the proper flags will still be asked. I'd actually like a puzzle-less 999 and Zero Escape a little more - they feel so convoluted at times that they're the only thing holding me back from finishing the sequel.

Finished the game yesterday. It was actually not as good as 999, but still really great. The new AB Game system is interesting, although it makes the game a little bit harder to follow. In 999, I always where everyone is and what they are doing because I know their numbers and can do digital roots, while in this one, not only I don't know this color system, their colors is always changing and I can't memorize that all.
My main complaint is that the ending is such a horrible cliffhanger. I'm also kinda heartbroken about how Junpei and June turned out be in the end. She is now completely emotionless and he no longer wants anything because of that. It gets worse when you realise that she was already like that in the previous game and was faking her emotion through it all.
But I really loved how Akane was Miyuki Sawashiro. That was the best thing in the game, actually. June gets even waifuer.
Also, I don't know where is K now? I thought Sigma's mind was swapped with K, so he would be on Kyle's body while K would be the one doing the mission, but it turns that was the player. Following the "mind swapping" logic, that would mean K is in the player, meaning the one typing this now is K, and as everyone else in this thread already played the game you are all K as well. Damn Uchikoshi tricked us into a Assimilation Plot. But, seriously, the one doing the mission is Sigma or K?
the voice of Tenmyouji passed away...
Anyone hear about the strange Aksys teaser countdown? Most speculation points toward the third game's reveal.
I heard that countdown was to reveal an Ever17 remake.
I hope for the life of me that it's the third volume, but it honestly looks unlikely.
Found the link to it.

Why is this discussion under video games rather than visual novels?
Also I believe that it is a countdown going at mm/ww since its been going down at roughly once a week around friday. Should look like 0300 around now

By discussion do you mean the discussion of the potential sequel or the thread? If you mean the latter it's because it's a video game. There's actual gameplay other than text.
Yes. well despite the game play its mainly been regarded as a visual novel.
I'm glad to see that he isn't giving up.
