I'd say prune the weaker examples. A sectionectomy isn't necessary.
Indeed weaker examples must go
I'd say the best thing to do would be to just delete any of the examples without a news story to back them up and add a note to only include stories which have a link to a news site to verify them.
There doesn't seem to be any potential for controversy (a few "was in justified?" controversies aside) and flame wars, so I don't see any need to remove the section.

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerAre there a lot of troper tales being thrown on there? It kinda sounds like it.
I hope not.
I added a note to the markup a while ago warning people not to add them and I've nuked them every time I've seen them added.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerOK, I've pruned away all the Urban Legend-like examples which don't have a news story to back them up.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI smell a wikipedia.
...And even I make no pretense Of having more than common sense - R.W.WoodWell, I couldn't think of any better way to avoid "Real Life" turning into a list of Urban Legend examples.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerUrban legends are a funny thing. If it's just tropers B Sing, then yeah, cut it. But if they're actual urban legends... well, those are actually better examples than real life cases, right? They're fictional, their narratives make use of tropes. Real life examples are fun trivia but less meaningful in terms of listing stories that use the trope.
What exactly does that mean?

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. It means that a folder marked "urban legends" would serve the page better than real life examples. But yeah, better remove them altogether than put them under "real life."
^ Nice idea. But we really do need something to verify them against, Wikipedia, Snopes, or so on.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Not really, the point of an Urban Legend is that is isn't known if it's true or not. As long as it exists it would be a valid work of fiction (or not).
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI was referring to "I smell a wikipedia." Ninja'd.

...And even I make no pretense Of having more than common sense - R.W.WoodAre we making an Urban Legends folder, or are we done here?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I'll add one now. I can't see any reason not to, and if someone can think of some reason not to keep it then they can just bring it up in the page's discussion.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerLooks like we're done here. Nice work.

The "Real Life" section is taking over the page, and has many entries that less the trope and more "I heard about this really cool thing". It seems to be a candidate for a Real life example section-ectomy, is there any consensus on doing this?
