Yup, still taking new players. Though fair warning, I'm pretty busy this weekend so if you post a signup soon, it could be a while until it's attended to by me.

  • . Name: Flare
  • . Gender: Female
  • . Age: 20
  • . Appearance: Flare is a young adult who has a moderate lean build. Thanks to her East Asian heritage, her facial features are quite delicate so she appears to be younger than her peers. Often seen in a hoodie, parachute pants and canvas shoes.
  • . Personality: Although Flare isn't much of a bad person, she isn't a sweet, cooperative companion either. Her past experience has shaped her into a cynical snarker who believes herself to be mature. Good thing she never whines.
  • . Backstory: She wandered into the story from a far away land...More is to be told.
  • . Equipment: A Glock 19 which has 19 rounds per magazine and a Calico M960 which has 50 rounds per magazine. Her guns can share 9mm boat tail ammo. Will sometimes use her wrist bands as a cheap way of self-defense.
  • . Money: $30.00
  • . Skills: Can perform multi-tasks at the same time.

Edited said typo.

Hmm, nothing really bad but there's some stuff I'd like to be cleared up before just accepting 'Flare', mainly concerning her guns. While picking some exact models would help, I won't require that; what I will require is choosing what caliber they use, as that will be important.

The pistol is okay though note that the boat-tail ammunition wouldn't actually make a huge difference. (And getting more would be difficult, but the pistol could probably use regular ammunition just fine.)

The SMG is also fine, just so long as you understand that it could jam more easily, and that getting more magazines compatible with it would be difficult. She would probably only have one to three of said magazines with her. (And as a minor side note, it's apparently spelled 'helical', not 'helico'.)

If you're okay with those and can decide on a caliber for the guns, (Or better yet, some exact models.) then I'll probably accept her.

I'm okay with those. Thanks for clearing me up!

As for the calibre...I'll decide after doing some research. I'm a total gun suckie...

The most common caliber of pistol ammo is 9x19mm Parabellum. It's a small bullet, but will put down a human being that isn't wearing second chance armor. A heavier load would be the .45, which hits that much harder.

As for a "light" pistol, I'd recommend a Glock. The Glock 19 is a good varient, as it is compact, and can accept magazines that can hold 10, 17, 19, or 33 rounds. If you of with .45, the Glock 21 is your best bet, with a 13 round magazine and surprising power for a subcompact pistol.

As for the submachine gun, the US made Calico M960 uses that magazine type. It uses 9mm ammo, which means you could share ammo if you choose a 9mm pistol. It still seems to be a bit overkill though. Personally I'd recommend a military grade KRISS Vector, because it has little to no recoil or muzzle climb and uses .45 ACP rounds, while also being extremely compact.

Thank you for your help!

I'll go with Glock 19 and Calico M960, many rounds for overkilling. Maybe she'll have a taste of KRISS Vector later in game...

I believe that Calico M960 has made an appearance in Fallout 2......

Alright, that works. I can't guarantee she'll be able to get a KRISS later, but it's possible.

So with that, Flare gets the Official Seal of GM Approval for Entry(TM).

Sorry about the delay, something came up on my end. I'll have to figure out a way to get Flare into the main game, but feel free to come join the discussion thread now.

@Popcorn: I like it, should be fine just so long as a couple things are clear.

The nailgun modified for combat is a fine idea, in fact it fits in perfectly with the setting. However, note that it won't function exactly the same as any other gun. It will likely be less accurate, will definitely have less range, and will likely have less punch. On the upside though? Less recoil.

The other thing is the blowtorch, which is okay for him to have just note that he might have to use it sparingly lest he run out of fuel for it.

So long as those are understood, James gets the Official Seal of GM Approval for Entry(TM). Right now was actually a moment I set up so a couple of our other newcomers could jump in, so you could get in now too if you want. Make sure to stop by the discussion thread and check the first post, it's got some additional setting info linked there.

@Baruta: Still open, though I may call a limit on how many people "just happen" to encounter the group while they're out. So I might ask you to hold off on jumping in right away. Go ahead and make a character if you want though.

The Blowtorch is (mostly) for building, not intended for combat I will however keep limited fuel in mind, also the backstory+ is so you can railroad my character without great difficulty.

I'm interested, here's a Character sheet:

Name: Dr Hadrian Babbington

Male Human, with a tiny bit of werewolf in the blood, it's not noticeable at all apart from having more of an immunity to diseases than most people, and at night hair growth increases just slightly. Aged 24, 5'11 with a small beard, blue eyes and brown hair.

Equipment: Double Barrelled shotgun, hunting knife, small flask of water, some flasks of "holy" water blessed by his brother who is a priest.

Money: 30$, he previously bought much of his equipment.

Historian, liked to go game hunting beforehand, he's an OK shot with a rifle or a shotgun. Sometimes advocates taking the traditional approach to monsters "just to be sure". I think that about covers the Character, I'm not sure what I should be adding.

@Olivetree: At the moment, I'm inclined to deny the character as is. The "little bit of werewolf blood" doesn't exactly fit in with how I've had the setting work so far. Specifically with any Humans-turned-monsters being pretty much all or nothing deals. (The "half Human" thing from the first post is a misnomer, if you missed the footnote.)

If you'd like him to be a normal person with slightly heightened senses and/or abnormal hair growth, that would be fine. Or we could negotiate him being a "half" werewolf; potentially a variant that hasn't made him realize it yet. (As mentioned in the first post, I'm not guaranteeing this would be accepted. But I'm willing to hear it out if you wanna try.)
