Looks more deranged than evil: Evil Laugh

Our current pic is less malevolent, more crazy. Would be better suited to Laughing Mad, and we've already got a perfectly good picture for that.

Let's have something properly diabolical here, eh?

Not sure there's a problem with the current one, but if so, here are some suggestions:

• Some combination of these panels.

• Last panel.

• For a lampshading, the last few panels here.

I don't see much evil in those. Well, possibly the middle one.

Current one is okay.

I think the line between evil and crazy laugh isn't all that noticeable if you haven't seen the source material (I haven't). She looks okay.

But here's another:

It's not all that noticeable if you've seen it either.

That pic isn't better than the current one.

Looking at the history, the picture was changed to the current one from this:

with the justification:

"Sure, it's a good laugh, but it doesn't have that slaughter that goes along with the caption. Besides, that is more of a Laughing Mad than this trope."

I'm with you, OP. It's the current image that looks like Laughing Mad, while the old picture clearly showed "evil."

Ok, red-eyed Light is a crystal clear demonstration of the trope, and if the image was pulled without discussion, all the more reason to replace it. I'll send a PM to whoever changed it.

Current image is perfect imo

That's as clear as that picture is going to get. Here's◊ a higher definition version, but if you scaled it down it would look exactly the same. And I'm pretty sure that's the entire frame - it wasn't cropped at all.

Anyone like this?

Mandark doesn't look very evil there. He could pass as triumphant.

I would like the Death Note pic, but I really don't like that it's blurry. It says, "someone grabbed this in a hurry from a low-quality video," whether it's true or not.

It would be nice to have something of Lex Luthor to contrast the picture on Laughing Mad, but it doesn't seem like he laughs as much as you'd think.

Why not something with a word balloon? It's not as though comics should be short on that kind of stuff.

Or like The Joker HAHAHAhooheeeHAHAHEEEhAhAhAHaHa in the "background" of the panel. But not that exactly, his laugh is... unique. Not a generic Evil Laugh at all.

He's also on Laughing Mad. I don't think it's a good idea to have him on both.

Either Light or the second Mandark pic are good for me.

I'm partial to the anime Light image, myself.

I really like the one in 6. The glowing evil eyes of doom are a very nice touch.

The slight graininess, which I think is better than more-than-slight bluriness, is a side-effect of sharpening it. Compare to original◊.

I dunno, that image is actually grainier than the original image, somehow. Given a choice between the two, I'd rather go with the original (although maybe at the resolution of the new one, if that's an issue).
