[up]Yeah, I though this was the most relevant for the Anime/Manga thread.tongue

My main concern about all of this is if Jump Alpha is going to be accessible to Australians.

You'll live. There will always be somebody who'll be able to translate them.

Meh. Too bad. There will always be people to scanlate.

Awww man. Can anyone tell me who the other scanlators are?

their digital magazine missed the mark; it runs several issues behind and only features 3 of the above series. So long as their product continues to be slow, awkward and inferior to something a ragtag group of nobodies can churn out in a few hours - fans will continue to look to scanlation groups and aggregators for their weekly fix.

Owned, Viz.

So, the most important and visible Jump scanlating drop the magazine. Which mean a few couples new ones will pop out in a short notice. I mean, this is Jump we are talking about. All of them are big releases. There is already more groups doing them than it is needed. With the closure of the most visible group, it only means smaller ones will try to fill the gap themselves.

It is a exercise of futility. Regardless of your view on piracy, such move won't change a damn thing by itself.

I'd pay for SJ alpha if it was quicker than scanlators even by an hour just to say it's legal but it's still weeks slower

It's impossible for them to outspeed the scanlators, though, since the scanlators outspeed the Japanese release of the magazine itself by a week. ._.

[up][up]I would pay if I could, them being late or not. I pay more than the whole year signature in a single month for my official manga translation, most which are a couple of years behind Japan. 25,99$ for 250+ chapters is a nice deal. Not counting the breaks, there is content enough for about 30 volumes (which, I believe, would be around 300$ in USA).

I believe everyone here who read the Jump manga and live on USA/Canada should support the on-line magazine. If only for how cheap it is. I just don't think their attitude will lead them anywhere. Even going by the assumption piracy is bad and hurt sales*

, their actions didn't change a damn thing. Too small ripple in the water for the Internet even notice the difference (I mean, most people use Manga Reader and similar, anyway).

[up]How does that even work, anyway? This is an issue beyond piracy, isn't it? Why such security breach went for so long?

I think the raws are being leaked by vendors. Can't do a thing about that.

@flapjack

Dude you do realize that scanalators have been releasing them before even Japanese jump gets it?

They'll never beat scanalators, a day or two after japan is more reasonable. anyways for what if counts, i am subscribed to sjalpha, and o hope they can close the gap very soon, and suggest others do as well.

at the very least you can try the .99cent ont shots.

Related: Redhawkscans is dropping Bakuman and Beelzebub. I don't read either, but for those who do, you just lost your provider as well.

Good thing I got a free year of Shonen Jump Alpha, then. The only series affected so far that I read are on SJ Alpha. :p
