"Admittedly, in the grand scheme of things, it's not that great, but it gives the visitor to the page a better idea of what the trope is about."
That's exactly what I was going to say. It isn't perfect, but your suggestion could seriously cut down on the misuse of this trope.
Motion to replace. (unless someone comes up with an even better suggestion)

I can't look at it right now, but I agree that the current pic doesn't represent the trope very well.
The concept of the suggestion is vastly superior to what's up there now, although the image quality itself isn't that great. Is there another version out there with less artifacting?
Reaction Image RepositoryFound a clearer version with TinEye◊ Doesn't have the text, but that may as well be the caption, right?
Sounds good to me. Definitely better than what's up there now.
Reaction Image RepositorySounds good. It would also mean that we don't have to have a picture with improper grammar on it, as I'm pretty sure that the plural of Anime is Anime.
It was either a penguin or a panda, but the choice is far less black and white than you would think! It's definitely better than what's there, but I'm not completely sold on it either.
I think 2 and 3 would work.
Is there any more you can draw on from those pictures' sources? The trope isn't limited to slaps and we want to avoid pictures that are just a woman slapping a man (that's not this trope) this trope is more like "The forces of evil hath no fury like a woman scorned"; when someone supposedly strong pisses of a woman it will hurt him no matter what, possibly more than the villains (hence armor-piercing).
That is not taking trope-decay into consideration, unless we want to embrace it.
So basically we want to avoid the same problems that the current image has.

It was either a penguin or a panda, but the choice is far less black and white than you would think!Got one of Superman being slapped by Lois Lane? That'd probably work.
I usually think of Lina Inverse whacking Xellos on the head when I think of an Armor Piercing Slap.

You know, that would be perfect, but the only problem is that I can't think of anywhere that happens. I'm pretty sure it has happened, but I can't think of where. I mean the superman thing,I don't know who Lina and Xellos are.

I think in the All Star Superman comics Lois slaps Superman when he reveals his scret identity to her, I'm not sure though, but there are a few continuities where she slaps him when he reveals the whole façade to her.
Alternatively, there is a widow who slaps Superman, complaining that he could have saved her husband.
In both cases, don't have any picture with me.
There's the scene where Rachel slaps Bruce in Batman Begins, but I dunno how well it would make for a static pic.
I looked up that scene and its an actual example of Get A Hold Of Yourself Man,
My Google-fu turned out to be too weak in my search of a picture of Lois slapping Superman, also, the widow slapping superman is a bit of a subversion in that it doesn't hurt him physically but deeply effects him psychologically afterwards.

It was either a penguin or a panda, but the choice is far less black and white than you would think!Yeah, I also couldn't find Lois slapping Supes. Disappointing really.
Chichi slapping Goku? James Bond getting slapped?
Bump. (Are we changing the image?)
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
The problem with the current picture is that
Currently the trope has a discussion do to the fact that too many people were misusing it in place of what would properly be Get A Hold Of Yourself Man, and I have a feeling that this image has contributed to that misuse by giving people the wrong idea of what the trope is about.
So my suggestion is this◊ image. Admittedly, in the grand scheme of things, it's not that great, but it gives the visitor to the page a better idea of what the trope is about.
