Maybe the trope is not named after the movie... maybe it is named about an attraction which is fatal....
But I don't like the name either, it fails to describe the trope good. There are a ton of things the name could describe. Falling for a black widow, falling for someone who means danger (the daughter of a mafia boss, the kings wife...) getting cursed/killed because this glowing item looked so nice and you just had to touch it....
The trope is about suspect-seduces-detective, I bet a million spacebucks it's named after the movie.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I agree that this trope could use a better name; I was expecting to be "Dating Catwoman when the "Catwoman" poses a serious hazard to the hero's life/safety", since it's apparently a subtrope of Dating Catwoman according to the latter's article.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I would also note that I just discovered that there's a trope called Fatal Attractor, which only some elements in common with this one.
This was in the Repair Shop once before for similar reasons.
The deal reached then was that we'd fix wicks that confuse the trope namespace for the movie and discuss this later if the problem was still an issue.
Soooo... how's this page doing?
Does the name have anything to do with the trope? If not, then it's not a good name in the first place.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
Sooo, as pointed out on IP, this trope is about a detective who falls for a suspect who may or may not be the culprit.
Perfectly good trope. So why why why is it named after a movie that has nothing to do with the trope, and has such strong connotations of another trope that I wouldn't be surprised if it's falsely used for that other trope?!
I'm a bit too tired and distracted at the moment to do a wick check; if someone else cares to beat me to it, please do. I just... I can't... I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!
