This seems extremely subjective.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I've been thinking about this one for a while, thanks for bringing it up. I support rodneyAnonymous's suggestion, as it shows the deranged animation rather than the deranged character designs.
EDIT: Actually, I just made an inaccurate assumption of the trope based on the name. Either image is fine.

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn! That isnt the best at showing Deranged really Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei does a better job.
[1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊ [5]◊ [6]◊ [7]◊ [8]◊ [9]◊ Seriously pick one...

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!A collage of 3 of the SZS pics would work great...even just one would be good. I'm not crazy about rodney's suggestion, but it's an aesthetic dislike...it works well enough.
I might have gone with some others, but that transition of subtitles is great...it's got my vote.

What screens would you have gone with? I have the thing open right now so I can grab ones without subs and different ones (it is such an acid trip episode it is not even funny... I mean seriously What Do You Mean It Was Not Made On Drugs much.)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!That's pretty messed up.

The subtitle sequence makes sense but the second frame looks merely unusual.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. She is talking from inside his eye.
Video of the sequence any other screens I can grab.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Oh come on you've been doing this long enough to know explaining the context rarely does any good :)

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. No, I know that, I linked the video to see if there were any other places to grab the shot based on your opinion.

From post #4, my favorites are 1, 2, and 4. But the new version of 3 on post #6 is OK too.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere. The frame in #14 looks better than the middle in the sequence, but it breaks the subtitles flow. Let's see...
That as the middle panel in that sequence would work better.
So, sequence to assemble:
Bingo. The rest can go on Image Links.
^+2 from Me Too!. SZS really benefitted from SHAF Ts animation
Although, admittedly, I also think Rodney's single image is quite sufficient.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Hmm do we need a crowner?

It's got a very solid lead.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
OK, how to describe this, the picture for Deranged Animation simply isn't deranged enough. Yes, it does look like an orange Sonic The Hedgehog talking to a blonde Garterbelt (which I guess is pretty strange), but the overall look just doesn't seem "Something no sane person would draw".
I think any number of screencaps from Shaft's work [1]◊ would work much better.
