Wait, Stand?

Running joke from Sanson Alter's Noble Phantasm which manifests as a wraith that aids him in battle and can use his normal Noble Phantasm which he got after killing him.

Every new thing I learn about that fic makes me dislike it even more.

For me it raises every flag of someone who's screaming about how much better than the original writer they are. Like Skysaber.

Yanno I think that might be why I dislike it so much. Every little thing about it just reminds me more and more of Skysaber.

From what I read, it seems fine on its own but fails at getting the basic 'this is sort of ridiculous, but that's part of what makes it cool' spirit that fuels Fate. Like, it takes itself so seriously, with the author's insistence to make the Servants historically accurate, it misses on the gaudy Crazy Awesome side of Fate.

Still, I've just read bits here and there. I'm not adverse on reading more to get a better idea.

That might be a good analogy.

It's ridiculous, but where the Nasuverse has a sense of humor about how ridiculous it all is, I don't think this fic does.

It might be that it's just trying too hard.

More just the ones that the fandom on the site whose designs they tend to absolutely loathe, particularly because a few of those are forbidden to post pictures of for violating SFW policies and have gotten people in trouble with the site mods.

And basically everything relating to Attila and Extella are not liked on site.

Nero, Edison, Da Vinci went totally unchanged for example. Jeanne and Bathory were mainly changed for themes.

I see Space Battles/Sufficient Velocity is as NSFW-paranoid as ever.

To be fair, posting pictures of Jack, in many places, could get you arrested.

However, that doesn't change the fact that I find that changing details for the sake of changing details to be, well, bad.

I've always been averse to random arbitrary changes, in general - I much prefer that things be changed organically.

I admit thinking Shuten-Douji kinda takes it too far.

Her design is why she is probably my least favorite servant.

At least Jack gets the cloak.

Shuten doesn't even get that much. Fortunately she's only average for a SSR, so I don't feel compelled to use her over Cleo.

Out of curiosity how would Gilgamesh fare against Dragonball characters such as Goku, Vegetta or Beerus?

For starters, they can speedblitz him badly. Dragon Ball Z characters can move at speeds that make Gil look like a snail, they aren't particularly vulnerable to magical weapons (Goku and Vegeta can keep on fighting after being magically turned into candy), and worse, since Gil got a physical body from the Grail, even a bullet between the eyes could kill him. A Kamehameha to the head would just atomize it.

Good thing Beerus doesn't exist in the Nasuverse then, just one minute after meeting Gilgamesh he'd most likely have blown up the Earth.

Thing is, no matter what, Gilgamesh as we know him would never fight Goku, Vegeta or Beerus, because the very instant that any of them sets foot on the planet, every single one of Gaia and Alaya's contingency plans will kick in, and that means that everything the planet has will be thrown at them, including Gilgamesh himself (likely as Grand Archer, which, yes, is a world apart from the Gilgamesh summoned in Fuyuki) as well as stuff like Primate Murder, the solar system's Types, every vampire on Earth - everything, the instant the world recognizes the threat...

Well, either that or the Counter Force will throw Shirou in their way, get him to make them some food, since good food would convince Beerus to skip on destroying Earth.

Would Goku be seen as a threat? Supernatural forces in general seem to be able to identify him as pure and noble hearted (otherwise he couldn't even fly on the nimbus), and while the Nasuverse supernatural forces are way more dickish, they'd probably recognize there's more risk for Earth itself on trying to antagonize him than on leaving him alone. Goku's rather neutral, after all.

Maybe it'd be better to have Gil convince him to pull a Hakuno and invite him on an outer space trip to find the worthy adversaries Earth won't provide.

The Nasuverse's worlds is many things.

Prone to overreaction is one of them.

Admittedly, Goku is an alien, and the planet really likes those, so it's possible it might recognize him as 'Type-Vegeta' (and ain't that a laugh) and empower rather than attempt to harm him.

You are now imagining Grand Order's Journey to the West event with Son Goku playing Sun Wukong.

Alternatively, I am now thinking of the plot of Dragonball, except FGO's Sanzo's the one who finds Goku instead of Bulma.

Prepare for unbelievable silliness and phenomenal goofiness.

Also probably a much closer bond between Sanzo and Goku than Bulma and Goku - hell, she'd likely end up being the one offered the position of Kami, and unlike Goku, she would probably accept.

Do you guys think Saber Alter would be a suitable Berserker? Like could she be summoned in that form to serve the Berserker role?

That' s unlikely, mainly since Artie has no part in her myth of going insane. The closest thing would be when… whatever… happened that led to Mordred. So Berserker Artoria would likely be futa Artoria.

If your looking for a saberface to make a Berserker just go with Mordred.

Mordred never went insane and while ferocious in combat, she's certainly not known for all-consuming battle-rages, so no Berserker for her.

No Saberface qualifies for Berserker.
