Ash walked over and asked, "Lakeside Forest?"

That did not sound like somewhere...he had been traveling. Why couldn't he remember where he had been before?

He shook his head, and said, "Okay, so is it safe to say everyone in this world are Pokemon?"

"Why do you say that?" Holly said. "We're not where people would normally live."

"Hmm...I suppose. Maybe this is just a majorly-Pokemon country, and the humans live elsewhere."

Or worse. What if this was directly after some sort of disaster or something?

"Huh?" Holly asked. "Where are you getting this? We just got here. Aren't we jumping to conclusions?"

"Well let's ask Squigly," Brent suggested and proceeded to do so, "So are there any human-people here?"

Brent wasn't sure what he was hoping for in an answer. People might mean a solution, but also could mean being captured. Wasn't like he was a psychic type capable of telepathy. Nor could he tell what he was actually saying when he spoke. It was all translated and thoughtless. The gligar went a little cross-eyed trying to work out how he'd teach himself to speak English if he couldn't tell what he was saying.

Meanwhile, on Route 45, Johto

Just as the Gligar finished his sentence, Marcus suddenly heard a thundering noise behind him. He turned around, just to see a Tauros running at him at top speed! Not having any time to react, he was hit with full force and flew directly into the middle of the other Pokemon. "Ouch..." he said "Should watch my back better...Anyway, before you ask, my name´s Marcus and, to answer your question, I´ve never heard of anyt humans here. But before you all start asking me questions, we have a more important problem, namely that Tauros over there. I think it would rather not like to chat with us..."

"How'd you get hit by Tauros again?" Holly said. "That looked like a Normal attack and Tauros don't have Scrappy as an ability?" she said distracted by this question. "Forget it. Let's see what we can do about this bully." she said.

Squigly looked at Scorp and shook his head. "I don't think humans exist anymore in this world. If there are any left, aside from you guys, I haven't seen any." He told them. Marcus then landed face first in front of them. Squigly's brain couldn't process just what the heck just happened. "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..."

He then snapped out of it and saw the Tauros. "Oh great, one of those jerks." He turned to the others. "Well you guys are Pokemon now, and you're gonna have to get used to being one. I'd say this is a nice time to learn how to battle. And if you guys want to make yourselves useful, you can help me fend off this guy before he decides to destroy my house." He said to them. He was worried that the Tauros' rampage would reach his home. Squigly had experience battling before, so he knew what he was doing. "(Why couldn't it've been a water type I was dealing with? Those guys can't do a thing to me.)" He grumbled in his mind. Squigly's cheeks puffed up, before he sent a pulse of water rocketing towards the Tauros.

Holly nodded. "Wait a second... What can I do? How do I use my moves anyway?" Holly said. Hmm... This form may be lame but the moves are decent. There's stuff like Leech Seed Faint Attack... But how do I use the energy to do that? I mean it's not something Pokemon just do on the fly. You need experience. Why am I thinking about all this when there's a wild bull right in front of me. Too panicked to consider the niceties of Pokemon battling any longer she decided to just leap at the Bull with her Hooves.

Ash ran at the Tauros, knowing full well he could get hurt, but deciding to do something anyway to protect those other people. He was a Fighting Type Riolu now, his attacks would be super effective.

As the water distracted the bull, he smashed one palm into its side, and unleashed a full power Force Palm on it. The force behind it threw the bull down on to its side, and static crackled over its form.

Ash could somehow see its anger, and predicted when it got back up and charged him.

Was this...Aura Sight? This Tauros seemed angry for no reason whatsoever, charging through the forest without even an impetus. He remembered a Tauros vaguely, and that even though the Pokemon were aggressive, they were not chaotic monsters who destroyed for destruction's sake.

This one's aura was pitch black, stained that color by something.

Okay. A tauros was attacking.

Crap. What do I do? How do I attack?

Brent was frozen with confusion, when he started to move anyway.

I'll teach you later, just tell me what to do!

Okay. Scorp didn't know any super-effective attacks but... Sand attack!

You got it boss!

Brent's surreal out of control moment continued as Scorp bounded towards the tauros. He landed beside where the bull was charging. Scorp scooped some sand with their pincers and tossed it at the tauros' eyes.

Holly Crashed to the ground after the force of the kick. "Ow." she wined, though quikcly standing back up. "I need to regain my strength... While the others distract him..." she said, opening her mouth. "I hope this works." she said drawing nearer to the bull.

Isaac would have been happy to help fend off the wild bull...Except he was a little too busy curling up into a shaking little ball, stammering something incoherent. The others looked like they could handle it anyway. I barely even know about Aron's, I'd just get in the way trying to figure myself out. At least that's what he kept telling himself.

Squigly was about to prepare another attack when he saw Issac cowering. "Oh for the love of..." He moved over towards him and bonked him on the head. "What do you think you're doing? Are you actually scared to fight that thing? Tauros is a Normal type! You're a Rock and Steel type for crying out loud! It can barely do anything to you!" He shouted at the Aron. "Why don't you make yourself useful and attack the damn jerk!" He growled.

Squigly then picked up a large ball of mud and hurled it at the Tauros. "Like that." He told the Aron.

While the Shellos and the Aaron bickered she decided to open her mouth, hoping that something would actually happen and she wouldn't end up looking ridiculous. "Leech Seed!" she cried out and there was something arising in her throat. She coughed up a fit What a way to go Holly. Choking on seeds in your first attack. I can't die like this. she though giving a last huge cough. The seeds flew toward Tauros and Holly gave a sigh of relief.

The Tauros rushed at Holly, but was interrupted and collapsed down as Ash did a Low Sweep kick on it.

It got back up and started toward her...

Holly decided trying a Jump Kick would be too risky, catching her breath again she decided to lay down on the ground waiting for Tauros to draw near. That's what Faint Attack is, right? she thought.

Tauros was not prepared for the Faint Attack, and finally, it ended up fainting on the ground.

It seemed thoroughly exhausted.

Holly decided to make sure the bull was down. She lightly kicked it, hoping that it would pass out and leave them alone.

The bull was definitely fainted.

Ash looked around and asked, "So...what was that Tauros doing out here?"

"Are they native to this area?" Holly asked Squiggly, curious.

Once the battle was done, Squigly glared at the Gastly. "Okay, first things first, who the heck are you, and WHAT WERE YOU THINKING LEADING THAT THING HERE!? That thing could've easily killed us!" He yelled at the ghost.

Squigly shook his head at Holly's question. "Not really. Well, not to this part anyway. He must've come from the deeper part of the forest." He said, pointing his head towards a particularly thick part of the forest. "Stay out of that place if you know what's good for you." He told them. "Really strong Pokemon live there, and I do mean strong. That guy we just fought was just one of the weaker ones." He told them. The Shellos just remembered something. "Oh yeah, stay away from the lake too. Same case there." He said, tilting his head towards the lake. "It's safe for me to live here since they don't usually come out of there, and even if they do, they can't do a thing to me. You guys though... don't stand a chance." He told them bluntly. "And if you're wondering what kind of Pokemon live there, well, do you know what a Gyarados is?" He asked rhetorically.

"But lately... the Pokemon here have been getting more agitated. More hostile Pokemon like that Tauros have been attacking lately. I don't know why. They usually kept to themselves in certain areas. But with all these attacks..." The Shellos thought for a moment. "It's not safe for you guys to be here. And I don't have enough room in my house to take care of all of ya'll." He then came to a moment of realization. "Wait, did you guys say you wanted to look for a town?" He asked them. "Cause I know one that's nearby, I can take you there if you want." Squigly politely offered.

"Gyarados?" Even Isaac had heard about those. If he couldn't even face a Pokémon he was resistant against (which in his opinion didn't change the fact that that Tauros was huge and could've squished him without a second thought) then he didn't stand a chance against one of those beasts. "Uh, so what's the town like? Please tell me they're nicer than that Tauros thing."

Whoa, Brent thought as the battle-fueled adrenalin high died down. Thanks, Scorp. Scorp? Seemed he wasn't talking again.

"That would be great, if you could." A thought occurred to Brent, had anyone been hurt? "Is everyone okay?"

Meanwhile, on Route 45, Johto

"Urgh..." Marcus said as he got up. "Yeah, I think I´m all right. And by th way, Squigly, I didn´t, as you put it, "that thing here". It attacked me and coincidentally I landed here. As for the town...I don´t know...I left it about 8 years ago, because everyone was scared of me...I haven´t got a clue about what the Pokemon around there are like now..."
