Given Gary Larson's strong preference that his cartoons not be used without his permission (see IP thread for Tethercat Principle), it is with heavy heart (for it is a great example) that I must bring this image up for pulling, on the basis of being cool with the creator.

Yeah, using an entire single-panel comic is a copyright violation anyway, so this is an insta-pull:

"Big Bob says he's getting tired of you saying he doesn't really exist."

I know this picture is too small to use, but would something like this work? Him being a giant teddy bear makes the imaginary friend part pretty clear.

[up][up] Not if we're pulling it because we can't legally use it.

[up] It's a cartoon. A giant teddy bear would not be the strangest thing in that thing by far.

Nope, not working for me at all. For all we know we're merely seeing the second panel from the kid's perspective (where, naturally, her imaginary friend is visible) and it's missing the part where somebody else realizes it.

If it's an imaginary friend, than the guy would have to be levitating slightly above the chair.

But he's still in the process of sitting down; note the motion lines.

Off The Mark did a really awesome crossover cartoon about it, with several such characters, and a reference to one of the most well known examples. I would like to see it as the page image.

Can we use it? Coz that looks like a single panel comic.

[up] Not sure, but it wouldn't hurt to check. I think we should use it if we can.

It is a one panel comic. So not useable (Can't use the entirety of a work without permission, especially when the artist' website says permission required to use.)

[up] So why not try to see if we can get permission?

Looking at the Contact Us page, it says "We offer very reasonable rates, frequency discounts, teacher and student discounts, and non-profit reduced rates.", so whatever we do, we'll have to pay. It seems like this image is out, sadly.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

[up][up] The raven isn't an imaginary friend, though, and there is a lot of text. Besides, the others still consider it imaginary.
