My main problem is that I can't tell who is saying "tell my your name, horse fucker". If it's Gimli, we may want to remove some of that line.
Fight smart, not fair.I thought about adding the in-between panel with Aragorn...would that make it clearer?
Perhaps shopping in a balloon connection line.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Much better.
Fight smart, not fair.Perfect.
I'm a little concerned about "rolling a one" being a D&D-specific phrase, but beyond that, not going to gripe.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.If I were to complain about it being too Dn D specific, I'd go for the "diplomacy check" aspect rather than the 1.
Fight smart, not fair.I like the new image, it's funny.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! It's not that hard to understand even if you haven't played D&D. I haven't.
Of course, if you don't know what the word "diplomacy" means, then it might not be easy within context, but you have bigger problems than this if you don't know what "diplomacy" means.
"Shit, our candidate is a psychopath. Better replace him with Newt Gingrich."I expect people to know what "diplomacy" means, I'm not sure on how well "diplomacy check" parses as "a randomized assessment of how well a character asks a question".
Fight smart, not fair.I think "one" is obviously a low "roll", whatever that means.
I am a huge D&D nerd, just playing the clueless role. Hehe.
Clearly. Was responding to Stratadrake.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. And as I said, that's not my concern. It's not a particularly strong concern, but it's there.
Fight smart, not fair.Clock is set...any other thoughts?
Webcomic vs webcomic, equally clear images… hmm, might as well go with the suggestion. At least that one has photos.
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!Gimli loses at diplomacy, but wins at images.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I'm cool with the DM Of The Rings pic. Well, lukewarm really, but it's better than the current one, so sure, why not.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Question: Where is that Penny Arcade panel from? Which comic? I swear I've never seen it.
I have a message from another time...Alright, the clock's up, and since we have some consensus to swap the pics, the new one is up, potholed, and tagged. Locking up.
What exactly is this image doing, anyway?
A Critical Failure (or as I prefer to call it, "Critical Miss") is different from a normal fail/miss in that it has a negative impact on the one who attempted to perform the action that failed/missed.
The current image doesn't convey that. At all.
Anyone got ideas for a replacement?
