Oh wow. That must have been incredibly frustrating.
I remember playing Red Faction 2 on the PS 2 and getting to this one part where you're in a La RĂ©sistance base and a shootout starts and everyone starts dying. I repeatedly played through that part of the game, loading and loading after every failure, trying to rescue as many friendlies as I could. I got that section down to a science. I obliterated all the little robots withing nanoseconds of their arrival with precognition-guided SMG rounds. It was... A perfect display of machine-precise gunfighting.
What was my reward? The resistance fighters crowded to what looked like an exit and dropped dead for no reason anyway.
Bleye knows Sabers.Yep. That was the type of crap I dealt with.
In the first one the big thing they did was they would come with you wielding whatever weapon they had for a while. To their credit they shot at the enemy, but they couldn't take hits. Eventually I would hit an elevator or a zone transition and they would just stand there, sadly looking at me as if to say "I can go no further friend. Good luck to you."
Then I'd shoot them in the toe.
I'd like to see a balance between the first two Dawn of War games personally. Keep the scale of the first game with the details, upgrades and abilities of the second. Base building isn't a deal breaker either way.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Gearbox isn't a publisher, just a developer with a shit-ton of money. Another reason to be cautious.
Jonah FalconI seem to remember seeing some mention that THQ had originally planned to add the Geo Mod functionality to the Saints Row games, along with the various references establishing a shared world, but found that it was too difficult to balance the game when the player could blow things up at will.
Nordic Games: "No shitty sequel for Darksiders."
Also, it seems the CEO has a place in his heart for Titan Quest.
Jonah FalconJust gimme my Wrath. Bayonetta needs some competition.
Bleye knows Sabers. So basically, he doesn't want to rush out a sequel this year just to cash in? If it's like that, then I'm okay with it.
As long as Darksiders III is available on Steam I am not too fussed when it comes out.
The first red faction was still my favorite, it's one of the few FPS's I've played that actually had a decent story.
I used to go through some serious shit to save the lives of every miner I met that I could, which is really problematic since you can shoot most of them in the toe with a pistol and they fall over dead.
I felt like the other Red Factions really kind of moved away from the appeal of the first one. Plus they nerfed the precision rifle, which I used to use to absolutely destroy my dad in LAN matches when I was a kid. That thing was a beast.
As for Relic and Dawn of War.. I want a continuation of the first one. I didn't like the second one much, because I felt it didn't keep to the scale of the 40k universe, and focusing on small squads was just lamesauce.
Given, this is mostly because I'm an IG player, so I don't get heavily invested in my individual troops.
