This might work best with some sort of lampshading.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Motion to pull
- Hideous
- Doesn't show that it's art. Makes any sense whatsoever only if you've seen the episode, and stops doing so when you remember he didn't originally consider it art.
- Angst and comic rage aren't exactly the same thing.
Motion to pull
Pic doesn't appear to demonstrate the trope at all.
Agree, even in context, that's not quite what this trope seems like. Now, if somebody wanted to use it for True Art Is Emotional, it would just be JAFAAC.
Fight smart, not fair.I vote to pull. Don't know about any replacement.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. For another alternative, I recommend this. (Perhaps with the hypothetical "Toy Story 4" example cropped out.)

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Oh, is anybody else thinking of Spaced? It offers a bunch of in universe examples although pics may be hard to find.
Here's the best I could find from Spaced. It's mediocre, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway (and the caption text would be brilliant from the show).
I really don't know what I'm looking at. Maybe if it wasn't so bright/dark and low quality.
Agreed.
It should be mentioned that that was added less than a month ago without any discussion.
I don't think it would work without some kind of lampshade. Simply having any old depressing image isn't going to work.
Maybe?

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I'm not a fan. Too Talking Heads-y.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Not bad...the pose and face make it a little better than quote fodder.
Bump...any other thoughts?
The white-haired pretty boy isn't that good, but still okay and better than no picture.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Dunno that is Sephiroth right? The cartoon wing and crotch bulge are sort of lame.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out.
It's a parody of Sephiroth from a comic called B Movie Comic.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Thanks for posting that.
What has been seen cannot be unseen. High-heeled boots too.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. To be fair, high heeled boots for men exist, and are still useful for horseback riding.
Fight smart, not fair.Pretty sure Sephiroth doesn't ride horses.
The show certainly isn't implying it; the scene was intended to be comedic. It's not an in-universe example either; he's not hitting the mess "artistically," just hitting it because he's pissed off. I'd rather it be imageless than use this non-example.
For an alternative, though, perhaps we could juxtapose some screenshot/poster for earlier versions of Batman with some screenshot/poster for any of Chris Nolan's Batman movies, perhaps with a caption calling attention to how much money TDK in particular made?
