Eh, aside from maybe it being brighter, I don't think it needs replacing.
"I know where I am, I just don't know where I am in where I am." - MeKeep Until Better Image Suggested
It's not a good idea to make this sort of topic without offering suggestions
I'm going with Keep Until Better Image Suggested,I can see that its a wolf but probably needs to be a little brighter. That said, I don't really see any other problems with it.
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."That is brightened. Was:
Crush the levels any more and it starts getting really artifacted; it's already a little past that point, anyway. That's probably as good as it will get. Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Actually I agree there should be a better picture. The trope description emphasizes the need for this.
Wolves. Hunt. In. Packs.
The first thing that came to mind was The Grey, but the trailer doesn't show any good potential pictures of the whole wolf pack.... in daylight.
Yeah, I don't really think its really has any problems now. Making it even brighter might make it look worse. Edit:On second thought maybe it should have a wolf pack. Maybe them attacking something?

"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."Just a picture of a wolf pack surrounding it's prey would work. Though if the prey has a look of fear on it's face, showing that it knows that it's about to get ripped asunder, then even better.
That works better too, I wonder what will come up when I search it when through the GIS.

"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."Pictures of Twilight New Moon..... GAH!!!!
I don't care for it...not enough of a demonstration of the trope. GIS'ing right now...
Here's an option for right now: 1◊
Oh that's a good one!
Oh god, I feel I need to go scrub myself for even suggesting this image.◊
(I'm not exactly thrilled about possibly using artwork that people legitimately sell.)

I like the first one the most. Because, they are hunting humans, of course I know the the trope isn't limit to that and the others with them hunting bison and bull are good but that's just what I fell that makes them be considered "worse".
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."I made this from a trailer for The Grey...if the panels are too small, I can take a stab at crops of the full size screencaps.
If only the wolves in the dark weren't... so dark. That's the scene that first came to mind when I saw this thread, and I tried to see how it would turn out for an image... just too dark.
I think if Everything's Worse With Bears have bear cavalries. Then perhaps this trope could use wolf riders like this◊.

If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?Hmmm I'd have to disagree. Wolves lose their cool factor when they become tamed and used as mounts. The threat of a wolf comes from them being wild and free.
The distinction between this and Big, Badass Wolf is that between one wolf and a pack of wolves? Is it just me or does that seem to anyone else like a rather shaky distinction? What about a pack of wolves where each wolf is a named major character? What about when it starts with one wolf before the others show up, is that a transition from Big, Badass Wolf to Everything's Worse with Wolves?
Anyway, perhaps we could use the wolf scene from Beauty And The Beast?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThe only thing that the description for Everything's Worse with Wolves says that is different from Big, Badass Wolf is that there are multiple of them, which doesn't seem to be much of a difference in my eyes.
I think Big, Badass Wolf is more about the alpha male, their cunning hunting skills and their cooperation and the lone wolf stereotype that is associated with them, which is why they are often considered badass. Everything's Worse with Wolves seems to be more about how it's terrifying about said attributes of a wolf pack especially when they start hunting humans.
Those two tropes are more different than just about how many wolves there are and the description for Everything's Worse with Wolves is kind of lacking. So I agree with you that it has pretty shaky a distinction now. But that is for the TRS, that could be brought up in the Everything's Better With Indexes TRS thread.
That is also why I think now the current picture doesn't fit. Because we need a wolf pack to show this trope, not just a single wolf and it's not even shown hunting or terrorizing something. Also when I look at the current picture again at the sides, it looks like the wolf is in a pack, but the shot focuses on the leader and not the pack which is needed.
Anyway, I think the Beauty And The Beast scene might work.

"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."Here's what I see. Big, Badass Wolf is a character type. A trope describing why a wolf is badass.
Everything's Worse with Wolves is a scenario trope where a situation gets worse because wolves show up.
For example. The Grey movie that's been brought up in this trope. It's bad enough that the cast has to survive the Alaskan wilderness after their plane crashes, but a group of wolves believe they're encroaching on their territory, and start chasing after the survivors. Things just got worse.
Anyway, The Beauty And The Beast scene there has lots of good shots of Bell being surrounded. Problem is, it's very low quality. If someone has the DVD or finds another youtube video of the same scene that's in a better definition, that would work.

This seems to be what is Everything's Worse with Wolves about an Big, Badass Wolf is a character type, so a single wolf is used. But the current description of Everything's Worse with Wolves needs to say something about this. But again, that's for TRS.

"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."(I have an HD copy. This movie is a masterpiece. I'm especially good at expectorating!)
In descending order of preference:

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Ah, that is perfect and in much better quality.
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."I like the second one.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?
