Nope. We learned this one the hard way. No examples. It just turns into a gross-out contest.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyWould in-universe examples have that problem, though?
No, in-universe means that if we don't objectively see it happen, then it's not an example.
And the wicks really need clean up regardless, as a lot of them are doing what Eddie stated anyway.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Although cleaning up the wicks would belong on special efforts, I think we could make a crowner on whether to do that alone, or clean up and allow only In-Universe examples.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think "Character is grossed out by something" is way to broad for a trope.
I think it might make a good index though.
Oh, wait we already do have one.

Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianThis is not just, plain disgust. It's something like... well the old description mentioned a Slash Fic involving Gimly/Gollum. Well some might find that appealing, the intended reaction is often a mix of horror, disgust, and nausea.
That is what squick is supposed to be.

Seriously, this isn't exactly a rare thing in fiction. Just because it's a viewer reaction doesn't make it not a legit trope as well.
I say we unlock it, and allow examples as long as they are In-Universe. Also, clarify the difference between this and Brain Bleach.
EDIT: Although it would be a hell of a lot of work on the wicks, but that's long overdue.
