Okay. So this is basically a conversation for EVERYONE who would like to join in on the convo.
Basically, anyone.
Anyways...welcome!!!
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

New theme music also a boxAnd Link seems to have infinite health in the cartoons too since he can use sword beams constantly.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. The Bad Guys commit their crimes in casual wear. Except for Mr. Wolf, who looks great in a suit and tie, and Mr. Shark, who is a Master of Disguise.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Ah screw it, I'll just use the aforementioned T-shirt, shorts and shoes. It's not like I've got an establishing franchise of my own anyway, right? Plus the guy I'm commissioning next week has drawn characters hero-ing in said clothes.

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. It’s happening again. I’m already getting an idea for what to whip up for dinner when I complete the South Dakota chapter of one of my future vacation stories.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Okay, while I was showering and brainstorming my artsona, I ran into one itsy-bitsy conundrum: the fear of insensitive accusations from online communities.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. Why?
Love ruins all.Well...in "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate", there's a spirit battle against Tac, a thief enemy in the Kirby series, right? And in said battle, you have to defeat four dark-skinned Villagers. Seems innocent to me, until I found out that people were criticizing it as a racial stereotype.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. And how does that connect to your OC?
Love ruins all.Because he's Black and I had the idea to make him into a Gentleman Thief after getting the idea from the Dating Catwoman trope (specifically involving Sly Cooper). He would still be good, just only stealing from bad guys while innocents are left alone, you know?
Maybe I'm overthinking this and worrying about how people will react.

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.I mean, unless said villagers were very strongly detached from black communities IRL, or if their cultural themes were explored to some extent, I can see where those critics were coming from.
Edit, since I think it‘s worth mentioning here: occasionally, the people who criticize for cultural appropriation aren‘t even the ones whose culture is being appropriated. Mexicans apparently love Speedy Gonzales, and take no issue with the Tostarena kingdom from Mario Odyssey, from what I‘ve heard.
In unrelated news, today I was embarassed that I‘d forgotten the quotient rule for derivatives, so I decided to look it up… in a private window. Which was totally necessary and appropriate for what I was doing, trust me bro.

"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsThere’s been plenty of black thieves. Take Assane Diop.
Love ruins all.Sorry for...bringing drama despite the rules saying I shouldn't. Gotta think of something positive...like, uh, kittens?

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Nothing wrong with it. Just something you were worried about.
Love ruins all.Yup, cats make everything better. -points at avatar- ;)
It helps that the chapter of my new book that I’m working on now takes place in the country where they were most venerated: Egypt. ;)

Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Unless it's called Cats.

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.-Sideshow Bob’s annoyed shudder-
On another more positive note, how does this story idea sound? If you don’t mind spoilers, in that vacation story I mentioned earlier, South Dakota is going to be visited by an entire family of French vampires. ;)
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.I almost fell asleep now. ;-;"
"To all of you here in person, and all of you watching on television, I hope you enjoy the show!"-comforting hugs-
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Well, I should probably get ready for actually going to sleep before I fall asleep in front of the computer.
Niflheim, I almost fell asleep reading a story to my noirette girlfriend's ward. ;-;"
G'night~
* ever-so-informally sets off Knockout Gas and falls asleep on the invisible floor *
-hugs- Have a good night. :)
As for me, I wish it was Saturday night already.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Craving donuts because of Aoi
Peace is the only battle worth waging.-talks like Krusty the Clown- Mmm, a couple of those would be tasty right now.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.We're gonna watch The Pebble and the Penguin, Rock-A-Doodle and All Dogs Go to Heaven for this weekend's movie lineup on a server.
Funny enough, we actually watched Happy Feet last weekend, wonder if that's why "Pebble and Penguin" got added to the poll...

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.
How is it that Mario, in his regular form, seems to avoid getting hurt in the cartoons? He always seems to only take damage when he has a power-up.
