I don't know if this is the place to ask this, but for y'all American tropers, but do you take things like family, relationships, life, etc. seriously? 'Cause, y'know, Indonesians, being a humorous bunch, tend to joke about those kinda things.

The thing is, I was having a discussion with my boyfriend, who spent the first 8 years of his life in Texas, and he said Indonesian humor is too hard for him to understand because we joke about things Americans usually don't.

It's a bit of a mixed bag. Some are more easy-going than others and vice-versa.

American here. That's kind of a broad question. The short answer is, yes we do, very much! But there are cliffnotes and complications with that. The rich 1% say they care about families but they really only care about their bottom line, and it's been that way for decades if not centuries.

Yes, because rich people can't have shitty lives or feel lonely. They "really only care about their bottom line", after all. I might dislike my grandaunt for her abhorrent political views and some other things, but she had an extremely difficult life and earned her fortune through sheer hard work and smarts. Yep, the hag's a one percenter, but she genuinely cares about me and wants me to have an easier life than she had.

Don't forget that we are all humans, no matter how much you might disagree with someone.
