Ha ha, the examples are awful. What the hell does 300 and especially the "This is Sparta!" quote have to do with this trope? Even the Lord of the Rings example isn't quite right. And as usual, we have the obligatory Zero Context Example (from an anime, no fucking surprise) with some dude from whatever it is that snowcloned that awful Record of the Loudness War title. This thing needs some serious help.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.I'm not even sure what the trope here is. Proclaim Your Racial Identity perhaps?
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickTo be honest the only times I remember seeing something related to this is in the Forgotten Realms novels, in those about Drizzt and his companions (Bruenor Battlehammer being a quite good example), but almost nowhere else. Maybe it's Too Rare To Trope?

There are no heroes left in Man.I think what this is or should be is, "if you are in X group or race, you go around saying you are all the time for no real reason other than to remind everyone." I think that would be tropable.

SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)...I'm not even sure I understand what this is supposed to be in the first place. Bleeping example as thesis.
Freaking snowclone of Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today? which is a snowclone of Have I Mentioned I Am Gay?. And all three tropes are basically the same: Every single time X character, who is a member of a particular group, is mentioned, so is the fact that they possess Characteristic Y.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today? seems to be more about the Suspiciously Specific Denial aspect. Is this? I have no idea whatsoever.
I think this trope is supposed to be a Fantastic Aesop about Have I Mentioned I Am Gay?. To use an obvious physical aspect as a stand-in for characters who feel the need to mention irrelevant aspects of the situation, without getting accused of gay-bashing....
Or it's just a joke? The trope itself is snowcloned into imitating it for a laugh? No idea... I'm tempted to ask it to be sent back to the ykttw if not cut, so that it has some time to "cook" into something real with a real name.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I say we cut the bastard.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Noir Grimoir's description might be good, but sincerely, I'd prefer it starting in YKTTW rather than trying to fix this trope to make it go with that definition. I also think that cutting it would be the best option.
There are no heroes left in Man.While I think this is a trope, I don't think "dwarf" is the right word to use here. While dwarves are certainly a race in fantasy literature, the more common meaning of the word in real life is basically "short people".
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Cutting this is probably for the best.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Cut it. Doesn't seem to be a genuine trope.
A brighter future for a darker age.I guess we should have a crowner. Like Option 1: Cut. Option 2: Redefine and send through YKTTW.
SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)I support sending it back to YKTTW, because there seems to be a trope here, it just has a bad description and bad examples.
And I much prefer Proclaim Your Racial Identity.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdYou want to do that for us?
SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)Truth be told, I'm not sure how. Never done it before. :-/
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdPut a note up at the top saying you're re YKTTW ing it. Maybe post a link to this thread. Then run it like a normal YKTTW.
Fight smart, not fair.Thank you! I assume the present page will be cut.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdLet's see, 32 inbounds and 14 wicks in twelve months, that comes out to less than 3 people per month to the wiki and 1 entry per month, so I think so.
Fight smart, not fair.Sounds good. YKTTW is up and in order.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI know the conversation's been over for a couple weeks, but for what it's worth it looks like a subset of Cultural Posturing.
Here's the link https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=d24g1unmxyu147vkdzltbdk1
And I don't think anything would be lost if the current page were cut right away.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Bird
Lots of problems here. It's a pretty dead trope, the description is kind of opaque and some of the examples don't seem to have anything to do with the trope, or aren't explained. I think this needs broadening or tweaking and the name should be reconsidered. Here's a hint: it's not just about dwarves.
