Air Master

This was a series 28 Volumes long made into a 27-episode Anime.

There has been virtually no discussions/activity regarding this series in years.

A scanlation group (nexgear) worked on 8 chapters in the past but dropped it 5 years ago & became defunct.

A single person, Locke Scans (who's a member here) released 4 chapters in 2010, but translating the rest of the series is a task beyond a single person.

As well as any discussion about the series in general.

This was one of my pet series a few years ago - recommending it, updating the page and so on. But the sheer ugliness of the manga led me to lose interest. It didn't help that I found (and still find) Japanese difficult.

Art's not that bad, I'm a big fan of Tri Gun, but half the scenes, I can't even tell what's going on! & The voice bubbles don't point to the speaker, so there's times I have no idea who's saying what to whom.

And both official Dark Horse translation & scanlators don't translate sound effects, so the scenes where I can't make out what's going on, are even more confusing.

Besides, the humor & interesting characters more than make up for it.

I don't want to wait 50 years to read it. But I can't read japsnese, since my visions too poor.

If they wrote romaji only, it'd be a different issue, but alas!

Please, for the love of God, get a scanlator group involved in this!!!

this series has so much potential thats being wasted for years [7 at last count, a quarter of my life i've spent trying to get this picked up] any scanlator who's interested can contact Locke, a member here. he has several volumes of raws.

ah, how fluent are you at japanese, if at all?

for all the fanservice the anime has, the manga seems a lttle less over the top. Though there are great humor moments.

though i'm only 4 chapters into volume 2. (out of 28 volumes total)

I know basic responses, honorific and the words which we translate into curses.

how's the progress?

would like to see the next chapter sometime this year.

anyone want to bring in a new generation of scanlator culture?

most of the classic groups are dead [franky house] or dying [mangastream... that QUALITY! ugh!] & they aren't being replaced at a sufficient pace.

this manga is a great place to start!
