I'm not trying to have the last word (and that's a real weasel tactic to act like someone's doing that, as it ignores the substance of someone's points). I'm trying to discuss. Why don't you tell me where the appropriate context is instead of just implying there is other context, and not stating what it is?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Well, the discussion at hand concerns an aspect which does not impair nor enhance the page image's function in any way. I discourage making polls for images—in practice it's kinda hard to make them "go together".
Here is my latest take on the image. I chose not to include current-day figures; somehow it suggests decadence rather than glamour. Yeah, there's Cobain, but he's a mythical figure already.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Nice mix of high glamour, sexy/sultry, badass, and cool, and I really like the way the pictures flow into each other either in pairs or singly.
It not only gets the trope across, it's beautifully balanced visually.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I love it! Brilliant!
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicYeah, that looks great.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Yes, all correct. Except the last person is David Bowie. They all have their own pages in the wiki, apart from Edie Sedgwick, Jim Morrison (link to The Doors instead, obviously), Ann Dvorak, and Sophia Loren.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. That's David Bowie? He looks like he got hit by a bulldozer.
Edited ^^^ to check to see if I got the links right.
Edit again. Ok, I had Kurt misspelled. Otherwise it's all good. I'll add it to the caption.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Done. Do you mind that I changed "nerds" to "losers"?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Nope. It has more punch that way—"nerds" is far less derisive these days.
I think we're good here.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Done, then. Locking it up.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
I am sure there are many contexts where "artist's judgement trumps everything" is stupid and wrong. In this case, however, it precedes my suggestions. DQZ's last word in 3... 2... 1...
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
