I sure as hell wouldn't post my results link. the answers are incriminating and would in of themselves be considered flame bait. I will say that I am ~-1.12 on the left/right scale and ~-1.90 on the pragmatism/idealism scale.

Left-right: -0.8354 (-0.0503)

Ideal-pragmatic: -2.1189 (-0.1275)

I answered no choice to things that I'm not quite knowledgeable about, and on a couple issues, things that I don't have a strong position on either side. Didn't pick a whole lot of strong answers.

They might have been trying to ask questions from both perspectives, just so that they could get a more accurate picture of the nuances between what you may or may not believe. Of course, it's also likely that they might have just screwed up by giving us the same questions twice.

@Dark Confidant:I was actually expecting to wind up somewhere on the right. I've never affiliated myself with political parties, though, so I guess it makes sense that I wouldn't have as much of an awareness of where I stand on that scale.

Just to the upper-left of Charles Kennedy. So idealistic leftie. Sounds about right.

And speaking of Right - why are Margaret Thatcher and Adolf Hitler the same? I mean I know Hitler was a dick, but come on!

Plus 0.0601, and minus 0.1257. I hope that means I am fairly even handed.

A lot of questions, such as limiting freedom of speech because of troublemakers, are really difficult to answer. Really we do not have freedom of speech because of griefers, and certain limits being imposed seems to work the best, but there are some really challenging questions in there.

Again, I gotta ask, does anyone here actually consider "using correct grammar" a political issue? What exactly is that doing there?

That question could be phrased better, but without being rude it might be saying people need to assimilate more into the foreign country and culture they live in and be able to speak the language.

So, I'm very left-wing, and I'm more likely to choose solutions that I would like slightly less than those that would be more feasible?

Pretty spot-on.

The most shocking thing was that everyone here is so left-wing. Wow.

Also, I'm more pragmatic than Ken Livingstone.

I can conclude by suggesting that Hopey for London Mayor.

Adolf Hitler and Margaret Thatcher are the same because the whole idea of a left-right political spectrum is a little off. Hitler had a lot of "leftist" views, which probably pulled him alongside Maggie.

Nevertheless, the way that was done was kinda Flame Bait on the part of the survey makers.

Very slightly(like a fraction of an inch) right of center, and about a quarter of the way up the Pragmatism chart.

My only problem with the test was that some questions like "It is never necessary to break the law to make a legitimate point of view heard." got No Opinions from me, because my answer would be "sometimes, on a case by case basis". The closest thing to that is "agree", but on principle I don't agree with breaking the law to make a point. Several questions phrased like that require some elaboration, or a "If things get really shitty..." option.

That being said, us moderates do exist I suppose.

  • left/right -6.1723 (-0.3715)
  • pragmatism -0.1828 (-0.0110)

So I guess I'm left-wing and nearly neutral on idealism/pragmatism.
