The Pikachu Effect was named after a much more famous Pokemon, and that got renamed, so...
Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toCompletely unrelated. (Are you sure that's a response for this topic and not something else?)

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Fiction as Cover-Up seems a bit vague. Entertainment Induced Deniability seems a bit better.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartMatt, why don't you reflect your opinion by voting in the crowner as everyone else does, instead of posting? Let the crowner reflect what name people prefer, don't try to force your opinion.
It's like when you bump threads that are in the first page. Or bump a thread that had activity five minutes before you "bumped" it (Money Spider trs, if anyone wonders). Stop doing that.
There are no heroes left in Man.Vagueness is something worth taking into consideration. Nothing wrong with commenting on it. Discussion good.
Bumping less good, though. Try not to do too much of that.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI don't think it's vague, I feel it's a good name for the trope, and people seem to think the same, otherwise it wouldn't be the highest voted proposal.
There are no heroes left in Man.And that would be a counter-argument. I'm inclined to agree with you, there.
It's good to be able to express that opinion and discuss this like adults, no?
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI don't particularly like the leading option Fiction as Cover-Up (aren't most cover-stories / cover-ups by definition fiction?), but I don't have anything better at this time.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I felt it added nothing, that's why asked him to just vote. The option is in the crowner and people like it, it must be good enough. Just saying that seemed like "I don't like it and that's all I have to say".
So no need to imply we're acting like kids ¬¬

There are no heroes left in Man.I'm sorry. I just don't think there was any call to shout down his attempt at discussion. We haven't always relied so heavily upon crowners, and I'd argue that crowners without accompanying discussion are of limited value.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffIt's alright. I agree with you, but I felt that "it's vague" was a poor argument. Pelillos a la mar, as they say here in Spain (it's a proverb that means "let's just forget about it").
There are no heroes left in Man.Since merely calling something "vague" is actually vague itself. One needs to state why it's vague, which has been useful in several threads and ykttws.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. If I remember correctly names don't require a 2:1 in order to be accepted, right? Can we call this crowner then?

There are no heroes left in Man.They don't, but we prefer not to call them when two people voting could flip the lead as is the current case. I would prefer to get a few more votes first.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBumping for more votes.
Is this ready to call now? This crowner's been stable for quite a while.
Calling.
Masquerainment and Entertainment Assisted Masquerade are now redirects for Fiction as Cover-Up, the wicks should be fixed, and there are notes about the change on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread. I also sent a report to move the archived discussion page for Masquerainment to Fiction as Cover-Up.
Feel free to check my work here in case I made any mistakes, especially since I feel like I might have rushed this a bit.

Good work as always. Thanks guys. Locking.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
The confusion might be more due to the haphazard way the Portmanteau was created. For instance, if it was Masquertainment, the origins of both parts would be much more clear - considering that "tainment" is a very common way of shortening/combining entertainment, and "Masquer" can really only be short for one word.
