Anyway, the point is that given the state of the internet, pretty much any announcement is going to spark debate and controversy somewhere, so perhaps we should do the same as we did to Base Breaker, and leave this page example-less. Incidentally that's one of the popular options on this crowner, too :)

I can support that idea too. We'll should move the examples to wicks, though.
It's not an announcement that someone found impressive. It's basically when someone says there's going to be an announcement at a specific time, but doesn't say what's being announced and it generates a lot of buzz with people speculating about the nature of the announcement.
An announcement that triggered significant reactions, that is.
Also, we still don't have any useful candidate to redirect this to. Maybe we should scrap that crowner option - what's the point of upvoting something impossible?

I really can't see that in the trope description. There, all I can see is "shocking news"
