Yes, we get it, you want Rebels to turn into Game of Thrones, we already covered that. That doesn't mean there are any inconsistencies with the story. You're the only person who's continually talking about how much Rebels is terrible for not killing the main characters off in every single episode. It's a show aimed at kids, do you really think any one of the main heroes is going to be killed so soon? Besides, Rebels got darker towards the end of Season 1 and Season 2 looks like it'll continue the trend, what with Vader being a goddamn Chessmaster and destroying the hell out of Phoenix Squadron.

And this is the obligatory time I remark Rebels has a main character who is the last member of his species because the Empire wiped out his race for resisting the Empire.

As for Yoda and Sidious, all Yoda managed to do there at the end was resist Sidious' lightning. Then the force explosion threw Yoda down and he couldn't fight anymore. That tells me Sidious won.

I don't watch Rebels but I've heard it contains things like the rotting corpse of an established character and the comic relief villains getting their heads chopped off. That doesn't sound kiddie to me...

Not only that, the episode in question has Zeb (the character in question) confronting the weapons that killed them, and Zeb essentially comments that the weapons didn't just kill them, but also shred their bodies to pieces in the process. We later see the same weaponry taking out vehicles with a single shot, so Lord knows what happens when its something organic.

So not only did they commit genocide on an entire species, they did the most brutal way possible.

Actually Yoda is deflecting the lightning back to Sidious. We know Yoda was doing something right because Sidious starts gasping in pain while Yoda is deflecing it. Sidious is pushing his lightning forwards while Yoda is pushing it back, causing an explosion.

The explosion knocks them both backwards, Sidious, due being in the middle of the pod, falls but regains his footing. Yoda due being at the very edge, is hurled on a drop that'd kill most people.

You could say Sidiuous "won" but it was pretty much on dumb luck, not out of genuinely besting Yoda with the Force or the lightsaber (specially the lightsaber, Yoda evidently schools him in that regard). The fight could have easily turned to Yoda's favor.

For what it's worth, it isn't outright said that Zeb is the last living Lasat, only implied. Best case scenario they are an endangered species, probably with too few survivors to recover even with a dedicated initiative. Worst case scenario, Zeb is an endangered species.

Nitpick time: Sidious also got flung out of the pod, but he had the fortune of grabbing its guard rail. Yoda got flung out to the main Chancellor pod, which had no guard rails for some reason. It looks have been less about their placement and more that Yoda was so light he got flung out way farther. Still lucky for Sidious, though. (5:36 in the video.)

Actually, does anyone know why there are so few hardcover books coming out? There are quite a few junior novels or Rebels based ones but almost no original new stories. There's one that was supposed to be episodes in Clone Wars before it ended, one that's about Han Solo's past, one that's a tie-in to the new Battlefront and the rest are pretty much the hype books for VII and the Shakespear one.

The entire final battle in ROTS is absolutely brilliant because of the mirrored narrative between the two fights and the two medical scenes afterward. The way the fight progresses, the give and take of the duel, the evolution of the location, the care given to Padme and the agony of Anakin's transformation into the suit, everything connects to each other.

Yoda goes into the fight ready to give everything he has. The direct lightsaber duel proved Yoda had the edge. His size and speed made it virtually impossible to land a blow, like trying to cut a mosquito out of the air, a mosquito with an impervious lightsaber protecting one side at all time. Sidious then turned the fight into a duel with force powers, throwing large senate seats at him. Since Jedi advise against such aggressive use of the force Yoda struggles to dodge and get closer with his lightsaber, resorting to use a similar counterattack to throw Sidious off guard. Then comes their final lightning battle, where Yoda gains Heroic Willpower to turn it back on Sidious, but the resulting (non-lethal) explosion separated them.

Yoda technically won the fight in terms of who was more powerful, but he lost the element of surprise and was forced to retreat once the senate guards mobilized.

...It's like every time I start to think you can't say something I would find more horrible you feel the need to surprise me.

I think if we all just stop thinking in terms of PC vs. Anti-PC we might be able to tone this fucking disagreement down. Someone being the last of their kind doesn't mean they're Speshal. It means they're fucking TRAUMATIZED by the loss of everything they held dear. Unless they hated their own kind. In which case they're probably still a target for the genocidal maniacs that started the mess.

Stop thinking of it as just a story, and start thinking of what it would feel like to go through whatever real life equivalent exists, if any, and I think you'll understand Unoun's viewpoint a great deal more.

Yeah that guy. I don't see how he's a sue in any way. Him being the last of his kind was brought up one time and outside of that he's probably the least developed of the main cast. I'm sure it will come up more later on but right now his primary role is being the team's muscle.
