Cut And Past Localization?

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

I'd rather the term "Cut and Paste" not be anywhere in the name. To me, it sounds like bringing over the series exactly the way it was, like how when you cut and paste something on your computer, it makes an exact copy.

It's pretty much the direct opposite of what the trope is (mixing everything around, moving scenes around, making up new storylines, etc.).

Patchwork Localization would work much better.

Maybe use the phrase Mix And Match?

Edit: Oh, right, that's actually a trope already. Would probably be misleading to use it here.

[up][up] "mixing everything around" is what Cut And Paste means. It was how you edited documents or made composite images before computers: cut the original into pieces, shuffle them around, paste into their new position. Which is pretty much what this trope is about.

Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.

But now that we have computers, cut and paste means something else

Cut and Paste to me isn't negative, I think this trope just needs a cleaning and a better description since it seems Mackere got tacked on it.
