Any one play this? It's a fan made prequel to the original Deus Ex, and set at the same time as HR.

Pretty fun so far, graphics are looking nice for a game using Unreal 1 engine. Very hard game, you die faster than in vanilla DX, and the weapons have higher recoil.

Thanks for the link. Deus Ex is the only FPS/RTS Fallout-like game that works fine on my laptop, so I appreciate mods :P

[up][up] RTS? What? In what way does Deus Ex even vaguely resemble a real time strategy?

I hadn't known this mod was released. Will definitely get it. Should be interesting to compare to DXHR.

There are at least a couple references to HR. (Since it takes place around the same time.) A newspaper will mention the attack on Sarif Industries, there are some Picus newspapers, and there is also a subtle Take That! to HR when you read a newspaper, and under the company's name, it says something along the lines of ("Yes, there are other media outlets besides Picus!")

And since because I have no life, I went ahead and began a work page for the game mod. 2027.

It needs to be in the proper namespace. Main/ is just for tropes.

Well. Finally beat it. Now I can focus on more important things. wink

My thoughts, pretty fun, albeit short mod. I would not recommend playing on Realistic setting unless you plan on being very tactical. NP Cs have deadly accuracy, and weapons are pretty strong. Remember getting OH Ked by the pistol in vanilla DX on realistic? Imagine that, with pretty much every damn gun in the game.

As for the endings, if this was to presumably somehow, tie into the Deus Ex canon, obviously only the destroy the base ending would work, as it leaves the organizations of the world intact. Oh, and you'll have to take out the Judicians as well, as the epilogue states that they end up wiping out Silhouette.

Oh and my advice for a newbie player who decides to play on Realistic? Well, you really want to know, Be nice and honest to Magnus. You'll thank me for that later.

Oh, and is there a trope for when you have a fan characters that is related to a canon character? Magnus turns out to be Anna's father in the vanilla game.
