Nothing? I knew this game wouldnt get much attention with all the other giants around right now, but nothing?
Used to be pretty interested in this, but that interest disappeared. Pretty much the only reason I am waiting for this to come out is so that the Foundry team can start implementing the Foundry into CO.
That said, I might check it out since it's going to be a F 2 P game. If I am lucky, I might get pleasantly surprised. Time will tell.
I think the foundry tool is the only reason anyone's interested in the game, I have my doubts if it will be on par with the level editors of games like the original Neverwinter or Freespace 2.

Epic necromancy time:
E3 gameplay for the few who haven't already seen it.
As a non-NW person (and a non-Dn D person in general) I must say that the gameplay has caught my interest. Fans of previous games will probably go volcanic over how it's more Ko A Online than anything.
Does this game use the 4th ED rules?
Give me cute or give me...something?Hype, hype, hype!
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.Open beta starts in 17 minutes! :O
So... anyone try it out?
Server queue's are pretty long. Whaddya guys think?
Patching it as we speak.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.I am supremely disappointed that they decided to make the world largely instanced because there's otherwise a lot going for it. Sure it fits with the Tabletop background but NWN and NWN 2 had open worlds to explore despite being single player games.
It seems modeled off of D&D Online or Guild Wars 1. I can't say I mind, though, seeing that the game is free to play.
Actually, it'd be nice to have some Dragon Age style "random encounters" traveling from zone to zone, especially when moving outside the city.
so far I both do and dont like it. Its fun, Plays well. Foundry will likely devour my life.
and yet the signs of obvious PWE and cryptic monetization, balance issues, and other incomprehensible design choices bug me.
Oh wow. I think this is actually the first supposed mmoRPG that actually has an in-built feature for your character background.
The foundry is very clever. Infinite content generation via crowd-sourcing. As long as they have a good review mechanism to sort the gold from the dross, this should keep players in fresh content forever.
I guess I'm in the mood for a little D&D hack and slash. But tell me, as the download ticks away in the background, are the classes they have on the wiki the only ones currently available? They sound like they ought to be specialist variations of the usual base classes and severely lacking in some standard variants. Is this a 4th edition thing?

Yes. There are supposed to be more coming. Might have to pay for those, though, which sucks.
I have to say I'm having a ball of a time running around as a guardian fighter and skewering people with my sword lunges left and right.
I find it amusing how, despite all the complaints about 4e playing like an MMO, the actual MMO based on it uses a completely different ruleset with only a few token nods to the 4e system.
Not that that's a bad thing. I doubt D&D 4e would translate well to any video game except maybe for turn-based strategy. As it is, I find Neverwinter pretty fun to play. Made a Tiefling Wizard, and proceeded to have a blast.
The Lord Of The Rings Online has had a little panel where you could write out all kinds of background stuff for your characters for at least five years. It seems more like a show off your biggest hit/post rather silly things said in chat channels but the thought is there.
so I was playing along on my tiefling mage, having fun. Then I get to level 10 and immediately go to get my professions started.
and then, I am reminded that this is a free to play game.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!
You'll be reminded again that its a PWE f2p game when you start getting lockboxes. or realize you need Asytral Diamonds to use the auction house. or that you need upwards of 20 dollars worth of Zen to buy a single mount or companion from the cash shop.
Honestly though, the worst part for me is the shared chat channels with other games.
Because every time I talk to my friends over on CO I'm reminded that Neverwinter is essentially built on the corpse of Co H's little brother.
and in further "yep, f2p is going ro ruin this game" news, yet another lovely reason to consider this an Allegedly Free Game . Apparently endgame enchants have to be fused from the next lower tier enchant (just like all the rest) but the kicker?
without wards (from the cash shop), you have a 1% chance of a successful fusion.
On the bright side, people have calculated out the cost of buying all the materials necessary for a top tier greater enchantment.
Its about 640 dollars.

I still find this game fun. Even if you can buy shit the fact that its really fun and free makes up for that.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.I agree its fun I'm just amused that people are defending the fact that getting the best loot in the game either requires ridiculous amounts of farming or spending 600+ dollars in the store.
Then farm and don't bother paying. This game does not look like its going to be too loot based anyway.

I'm suprised there isn't a thread on this, considering the other IP that shares it's name. Here's the story trailer:

And the webpage:

I certainly have mixed feelings about this game, though this is probably because there has not been anough infomation released to form an opinion.
