For the record, I agree - it's very hard to spot the borders on that map. It's not JAFAAC, but it's not remotely obvious either.

There is the three major powers in Gundam 00 [1]◊[2]◊ and then Gundam Seed [3]◊

2 is excellent.

2 is good for me as well.

#2 isn't bad but would be a lot better if the pic was big enough to have some kind of descriptive text on it so it doesn't look like a selective recoloring of a world map.

Lets see what number 1 looks resized (funny how the AEU (in Green( is pretty much present day EU with a few added countries.. before the EU was really made..)

Still prefer #2. #3 is also workable, but I don't really like #1.

#1 doesn't work well at all resized.

I rather like the fact that they have unique flags color coded with their territories with a patriotic type effect.

However, the text is completely illegible, and the colors on two of them look very similar.

Yeah, the one in post 7 is clearest.

Ya kind of chopped off the main bad guy and the good guys with that cut. (The Atlantic Federation and the Orb Union respectively.)

Anyway the full version comes off better IMO.

The main good and bad guys aren't the point of the trope, though. The point is the existence of Space Filling Empires.

I'm fine with either resizement of #3 - the one above or the "whole world" version from earlier.

In this case, I can sacrifice completeness for clarity, and with that, I'd go with Camacan's pic. We can always link the full pic somewhere, even if it's on the Image Links page.

Looks like we've got some consensus for post 15. Calling for objections, otherwise I figure we go with it.

I understood the current picture, is it really that hard to get blue parts of the map are all the same empire?

Yes indeed; I believe we're past that bit. We've got some consensus that the boundaries are just too hard to see and don't particularly indicate empires, lacking any sort of further cue. I'd say whatever we choose to do, the current won't be staying.

Yeah, arbitrary replacements without even an edit reason isn't a good idea at the best of times. Doing it when the IP banner is right there is a worse idea.
