Even on a tiny $5 million production budget, Jem still managed to flop. Its $1.38 million opening weekend was the worst opening ever for a film playing in at least 2,400 theaters.
And that's why they should've listened when the director wanted to make a faithful adaptation XD

Yeah, It just proves that when it comes to making remakes of ANY 80's FRANCHISE It's best to keep the original canon, not your own "original, better" version.

Oh hey this had a thread.
After watched the whole thing on Netflix, I've concluded that this show was pretty ballsy for something of its ilk. Unfortunately, it's been so long since then that I'm having trouble explaining how.
